Is anybody “Snobby” about anything?

@normskih yes we were taught that when we were learning to read and write. Same as spelling. When I first started teaching in the ‘70s I carried that on but got into trouble a few times for it …. ‘Self expression EB, self expression, you’re holding them back!!’
I used to do Spelling quizzes on the quiet. Bad teacher!!! :-)
I was born in ’62, so my early education years were in the 60’s. They are the ones that set you up for your life. I went to school on a council estate, Wythenshawe, the Headmaster, grew up with my Mum in Burnage, can you imagine my embarrassment when my Mum used to drop me off at school and she used to say hello to him by his first name? We always had spelling tests, out of 10, I still remember it now. I’m not saying everything was better about education in the times gone by but by the sounds of things some things definitely are.

Your one of those people that shops at Lidl with your Waitrose bags at the ready to put your shopping in. Admit it. You couldn't be seen getting out your roadster with yellow and blue bags of shite.
A mate of mine used to work for Proctor and Gamble. I forget the exact details, but he was telling me once about the huge number of British housewives who would buy cheap washing up liquid and decant it into the old Fairy Liquid bottle that they’d bought 5 years prior and kept refilling.

Im snobby about my booze. would prefer to pay a lot for a decent cocktail ( Old Fashioned im looking at you ) at a top end bar than the cheap crushed ice crap.
