I remember Shock and Awe but wasn't overly worried coz Saddam was an outlier in reality - I remember the Russians getting their arses kicked in Afghanistan - recently the Queens passing was huge but on review I think for me number two was Live Aid and one was the fall of the Berlin Wall - it was started the week I was born and just seemed a fixture forever. I remember being out working sat in a Citroen AX oddly enough outside Leigh RLFC and listening on the radio to reports that made me think " fuck this is it ! As I say I thought it was an immovable East West divide and I was tingling when I got out of the car - will never forget that

Should the headline read "event" and not "even" ?

Internationally for me

1. Soviet Collapse (end of real WW3 fears at the time)
2. Chernobyl (incredible to think of a real nuclear disaster)
3. Trumpism (it's changed reality and morality and led us back to possible WW3)

Ya covid was sorta a big deal alright. Not least for me losing my man boobs and having a nice flat stomach. It's a balls that lock down ended and I'm a fat **** again.

Easily Fall of Berlin Wall. My grandad unfortunately died 2 weeks before it and never got to see his country freed. I did get to vandalise Checkpoint Charlie though in 2012.

moon landing (though I was too young to notice)
9/11
Berlin Wall
Russia invasion of Ukraine

Definitely 9/11. I was in school and I remember it vividly.

We had a family holiday in New York 6 months later too. Was amazing how quickly the rebuild operation was conducted. New Yorkers don’t fuck about.
