As things currently stand, United are broken and busted. Too many games, not enough squad depth, players playing injured, because they cannot sub them for 12 year olds and Burnley rejects. The form they had after the world cup has fizzled out. The only thing that is in their favour, is that the FA Cup final is 2 months away, and since crashing out of Europe, they only 1 game a week, so they may have time to recover fitness and form.

On the flipside, City are firing on all cylinders. Peaking just at the crunch time of the season. The squad is good enough to rotate, and the players coming in have the quality to keep on churning out results. Bayern Munich were dispatched without getting out of second gear. The only difficulty now is keeping it going for another 9 weeks. And stopping players from mentally going on holiday in June.
