Season Tickets - 2023/24

You want success, you need to help pay for it. You can't rant on here about UEFA fucking with us about FFP and then not expect prices to go up when prices everywhere are rising. They need to make the books balance if you want players like Haaland.

With all the fucking moaning across these threads today I think some would just prefer we were back at Maine Road struggling to stay in the Championship, that way there would be plenty of tickets left for every game and the prices would be cheaper.

I get people are skint these days but the club is a business and not a charity, our owners have done so much for us all over the years. Some of the bile on here over the last two days has gone beyond understandable frustration and into spoilt entitlement.
Wish there was a treble 'like' button

Let’s not let the club ruin the end of the season, we need to be TOGETHER for the run-in.

But maybe we should do a banner for the start of next season.

‘WE ARE HERE FOR OUR LOVE OF THIS CLUB, NOT YOUR BALANCE SHEETS AND PAYRISES. STOP THE PRICE HIKES!’

And hold it up at the bottom of SSL1 for an entire game (if people’s arms can handle it!).

With all due respect, this is the reason why the suits do what they want.

The only way they listen is by hurting their pockets. Banners, walk outs, sit ins, songs, statements mean fuck all.

Not protesting as it might affect the team is why they have us by the balls and why we as a collective bend over time and time again.

Not having a go btw, just the reality. If your local pub/bar keeps putting prices up, eventually you will stop going and find somewhere cheaper. You can’t do that with football clubs.

It’s emotional blackmail.

This is a lot earlier than previous years isn't it? In recent times anyway.

From the wording they are not committing that there will be any season tickets available for new buyers despite the inevitable churn.

I can see tickets being repurposed by those who give up, either offsite hospitality or just sold individually for more money. Knowing the number early will inform strategy and options.

I'm not sure you do.

The best ones are like "Ive been to every home and away game for the past 20 years but I cant afford a season ticket". Bizarre.

I used to do that, but I can’t afford it anymore.

Away tickets are still £30, but…..

Away travel has gone up. Beer has gone up. Food has gone up. And flights and hotels have fucking rocketed in price, which you’ll find out when you book your flight to and stay in Istanbul.

Once again, City don’t play a 19 PL game season.

As I said a pound a week and disgusted?? It’s a pound a week no matter what you say!

Not for me, doesn’t warrant use of Tone Deaf. The outrage seems way way over the top.

You are tone deaf because you are equating it to a pound a week without factoring in a cost of living crisis which strips household income further.

You're a Moss Side boy like me and you come out with this shit?

Yep, we all work hard to get out of the gutter, but that doesn't mean we forget those people who aren't that far from it.

I, like many others, are also responsible to pay for others, which puts further strain on the commitment to keep watching City.

It's disgusting in a cost of living crisis in a city like Manchester when some people are counting every penny coming in to household.

It's disgusting and tone deaf.

City have absolutely no reason to have done this at such a time.

I've cut back enough since Covid killed my business, I don't want to cut back on City as well.

Not sure any of that invalidates my point. Which is, it seems to be the people saying they are "hard core" and go to loads of home and away games but are missing out on this one cos they cant afford a season ticket. The two don't add up.

The thing is these Silvers were initially only meant to be offered to existing Season Ticket Holders and I imagine the numbers downgrading to it from Gold were relatively small. They were probably surprised at how many Season Ticket Holders who opted out after Covid wanted to return and they'd took on too many new ones in the meantime.

They'd always advertised the Cityzens Membership's main perk as the way of getting on the Season Ticket 'Waiting List' so they had to do something last year and therefore released a small number of these. Interestingly they've removed all the information with regards to the waiting list on the membership benefits now so I wouldn't be surprised if they don't release any new season tickets of any description this year.

Get moaning mate. Clearly underhanded behaviour from the club.
I will do, cheers.

Totally get that but the club have disconnected from what matters and fans matter. It's nice to have overseas fans, visitors and the like but as a club we're drawing in more than the people of Manchester. Why laugh at the train loafs at Old Trafford if we're heading the same way?

Business is business but the TV pot money, the transfers and all that have covered much before... and those numbers get bigger every season. Nobody wants a return to mediocre seasons but likewise why build the CFA across the way, and have everything if the fans can't stay close or access it? It isn't spoilt or entitlement to view prices as already too high then question the next increase? 30 quid away tickets was a start and sadly that momentum to make football affordable slid down. Yeah gigs, music and other entertainment shoots up, buy City is something many of us were indoctrinated into, and walking away isn't an option. Voicing opinion is, even if Franny Lee, Wardle and Swales maybe the only ones listening.

I'm not sure you do.
You dont know me so you can't assume, it's a sad fact of life that we are ALL feeling the pinch recently, but that doesn't mean the club owes us anything enough to freeze or reduce season tickets when their operating costs are rising and us fans demand ever more success on the pitch. Everything from food to clothes to fuel has risen, by similar percentages or more, why should the club absorb the increase costs, they have done their fair share over the years.
