Buying stuff from Ali Express or DH Gate

Yeah it's a bit of a quandary as I have buyer protection on my cc. If I don't get it I get a refund.
I know pp have a similar arrangement but how good is it ?

I have always been refunded if an item has arrived broken or faulty, if you are buying something really expensive there might be some benefit to using your CC, however I haven't ordered anything over £300 at any given time.

I don't use Aliexpress as you usually can't pay with paypal and I am not giving my CC details to a chinese company no matter how much they promise to be good.

i do though buy from Wish.com and more recently Temu.com.
Mostly it arrives, if not I get a full refund.

As long as you expect it to be pretty shit quality you won't be disappointed but there are some bargains to be had

DHgate is fine with refunds. Its Chinese amazon basically, stuff could randomly take months during the pandemic but its much better now.

I’ve bought bike bits from AliExpress a couple of times. Delivery takes about a week or two, no real problems.

It’s just the same as eBay really - read a few reviews of the product and seller and you’ll quickly work out whether they’re reliable.

How did you pay mate

On DHgate, they don't release payment to the vendor until you've physically received the goods so it's well protected. I was refunded for something that went missing in transit during Covid.

Might have a look later today and get a couple of NBA vests for my hols.

Credit card I think.

Remember when you use a credit card it’s not *your* money you’re spending, it’s the banks.

Should anyone scam you (highly unlikely with a reputable seller on AliExpress) you can you claim the money back from your credit card company. The risk is low.

It happened to me recently on eBay. I bought one of the expensive official Apple iPad keyboard cases and the seller just ghosted me and didn’t send the product. 24hrs later the balance was returned to my credit card with zero questions asked from my bank.

I’d avoid stuff like bank transfers or Western Union etc but credit card transactions are VERY secure and offer a lot of buyer protection.

Ordered a football shirt for my daughter and it came in about 2 weeks.

Fully personalised England Lionesses Shirt. Looks real aswell

I'm convinced they're made in the same factories, the managers skimming off the top

You are most likely right mate, they either make extra to sell on the side or they share/sell the specs to other factories so that they can copy.

We had issues with factories leaking designs and specs of our products to competitors.

Aye, I imagine so.

Means I get cheap kits for my 7 year old who'll grow out of them in a few months!
