Walker was brilliant until he had to go off injured in last years semi. Bernie will help him out against Vinisius. If we can keep him quiet, it will go a long way to getting a result at their place.

I agree that Mahrez probably won't start but to boldly suggest he won't be 100% committed in a Champions League semi-final is crazy when you consider he's part of a very, very select club of players in Manchester City's history.

In fact, not only is he one of only five players in City's history to score in a game of such magnitude, he's also one of only two players (along with De Bruyne) to score more than once in a Champions League semi (4 goals).

He's a big-game player and if he starts he will produce, as he often does. Even on an apparently "off day" the other day against Leeds he still racked up two virtually identical assists for Gundogan. He always produces.

Since he's arrived, in each season so far he's contributed 24 G/A, 29 G/A, 23 G/A, 33 G/A, and 27 G/A so far this season. People call him "Ffs" when he's one of our most consistently productive and deadly forwards.

I agree that Pep will probably opt for Gundogan and Bernardo together so that De Bruyne has space and time provided to him but if Mahrez does start he'll do what's required of him for a game of this level, as he has done before.
Well said!

I’m 60-40 in favour of us for this one but then remember it’s Real in the CL who will have the officials on their side so will even it up.

6-5 on aggregate, we go through.

Mahrez can be nowhere near the starting 11. We need 100% commitment and effort from second 1.
Mahrez will be a great call from the bench when the game is stretched and tired
Not 100% commitment and effort? Honest question: why do you say bullshit?
He practically sent City to the final last year in the Bernabeu before being hooked in the 85th min, after which disaster struck. Just couple of days ago, City won due in part to his two assists. Talk about commitment and effort ... smh

Our lads will run out knowing they are good enough to win. Doesnt happen overnight, it comes from years of "being there or there-abouts", never been outclassed despite the losses, and it takes away RM's aura of being unbeatable. I think the arse were affected by this intangible but actual mind-set, last week.....Tomorrow, with so much talent on view, both teams capable of creating chances out of nothing, luck can be the deciding factor. Can live with that,

I think we will play it cautious.

Pep knows that whilst Madrid have struggled in the league this season, they are still capable in this competition at home of blowing anyone away.

That front 3 of theirs is the definition of world class.

If we do get beat just don't make it more than one goal.

Thinking a draw.

That Rodrygo is an annoying little twat every time I have seen Madrid play he’s been really quiet but comes up with a goal.

14 years ago, in May 2009, Pep's Barca defeated Real 6:2 in Madrid...One can dream.

Real are not to be underestimated, though. Liverpool want to get a revenge for the 2018 CL final and fail every single time. Real have been exceptional in the CL since 2014.

Too much talk about their front 3, but it's not even certain that Rodrygo will start. They started with Rodrygo at Etihad last season and we created chances for fun. Therefore, Ancelotti decided to start with Valverde in Madrid. Wouldn't be surprised if they go with 4 mids plus Benzema and Vin. Jr in attack.
