Problem with that is that he hasn’t played too much on that side, so it could be counterproductive. He might be more of a threat in the last quarter in left midfield when Carvajal tires and there is more space between him and Rudiger.
 
that 45 minutes has to do all the talking in the dressing for pep, you go out and play like that again and we are out of this plain and simple, if you want to win this competition then go out and show it

one thing I will say is KDB is too far in front with Haaland we need KDB on the ball pulling the strings
 
Started well and kept them hemmed in early on and created a fair few half chances but perhaps tired a hit as the game went on and gave them a bit too much room.

Not getting too much from the wide areas. Bernardo has had a lot of the ball but hasn't really got much out of their LB.

Need to up the tempo a bit 2nd half and try to move the ball a little quicker and we should get a goal or two.
 
We need to speed it up, Haaland is so isolated at the moment

Gotta keep composed though, 1-0 we can take back to the Etihad....2-0 they counter us to death

It's funny.

You can blame Rodri for being slow and late on Modric, Bernardo for getting too tight on Cavaminga, Gundo for tracking back at a snail's pace, and Dias or Stones for not closing down on Vini... but nope. It's Ederson's fault!
 
Rodri’s misplaced pass and Thugigers elbow put us off track after a promising start.

Still early days and it’s important that we don’t panic. A 1-0 loss is not the end of the world either.
 
Liam Brady on RTE calling out the ‘lenient’ refereeing with regards to Madrid fouling; he particularly referenced Carvajal and Rudiger. Much better on RTE than the Madrid bias from BT.
 
I’d take 1-0 from here. Just anything to keep us in the tie. The way the officiating is going, and the way we switch off, they can easily win 3-0 out of nowhere. Just need to at still be in it at home. We can beat any team on the planet by 2 goals at The Etihad.
 
Keep it just 1-0 & bring it back to the Eithad with these shite refs I’ll be happy with with. We will batter them at home
