PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

From Pep’s statements it sounds like we have produced and it’s the PL that are dragging this out.
Interesting that Richard Masters, PL CEx, was at the Etihad on Sunday to present the trophy and medals to City as 2022/23 Champions.

Hard to believe that words were not exchanged between him and the City hierarchy over the FFP charges especially in the absence of representatives of teams in red or those others pushing for sanctions against City.

Richard Masters had nowhere to hide and will have been exposed. He may have been told some home truths that left him looking unhappy and leading to Peps statement about wanting the PL to bring a quick conclusion to the charges.

Unfortunately for me, I have first hand experience of the importance and meaning of cogent evidence. I have just lost a case where we were the claimant trying to prove a case that incorporated this issue. So safe to say the bar is very high. And the PL case theory is, like UEFAs, inherently unlikely and serious for many individuals. The evidence will really have to be very strong (cogent) so (guessing) unless the panel, effectively, say they don’t believe City’s witnesses it’s going to be hard for the PL to win.
If they have nothing but the emails as evidence, their allegations won’t be proven to be right. City will be able to provide evidence that counters the emails like we did at CAS. How are they going to counter high figure executives from Etisalat giving a witness statements saying they’ve fully fulfilled all contracts with City? They aren’t.

Fuck face Stone with another pile of bollocks… obstructing the UEFA case ? a failure not to cooperate becomes obstruction… then he moves on to his ongoing fixation of Pep leaving. What an utter **** this charlatan is… cancel your TV licence immediately.
BBC
Negative City story = Simon Stone
Match report praising City = Any other employee

A little snippet:

The alleged inaccurate reporting of finances is supposed to trump any beauty we have seen. And doesn’t that cut to the heart of the modern game? After all, how many times do fans leave the stadium with spotless accountancy the only light in a bleak horizon? “Well, we might have been stuffed by Middlesbrough again, lads, but what about the accurate reporting of our finances, eh? If you excuse me, I must rush home to craft a giant flag for when our accountants come by on an open-top bus.”
Other media outlets should be forced to repeat this article, lol.

Won't they have all the numbers and documentation that City have provided them with, and then be able to assess how well those fit what was declared?
The emails don't seem (to me) to be important.

Here is pep on charges, so you don’t have to click link:

“What I would like is if the Premier League and judges could make something as soon as possible,” Guardiola told reporters ahead of Wednesday's trip to sixth-placed Brighton & Hove Albion.

“Then, if we have done something wrong everybody will know it and, if we are like we believe as a club for many years, (done things) in the right way, then the people will stop talking about it.

“We would love it tomorrow. This afternoon better than tomorrow.”

“Hopefully they are not so busy and the judges can see both sides and decide what is the best, because in the end I know fairly what we won we won on the pitch and we don't have any doubts,” Guardiola said.

“Let's go. Don't wait two years. Why don't we do it quicker? In 24 hours, sit down with lawyers present. Let's have it as soon as possible for the benefit of everyone.”

I like the bullish words pep is using. We only get snippets but you don’t call for a quick resolution if you are banged to rights.

Pep speaking out can only mean we have a watertight case. He wants it over and done with and must have gotten some indication from the higher ups that everything is above board or else he is an idiot and I just can’t see it being the latter.

This week is getting better and better.
You'd hope from reading that that he indeed has had the nod from above.

You can just tell Pep is locked & loaded ready for one of the snides to ask him about the charges ‘let’s go!’ I love that. The next one to question his integrity is getting both barrels

it’s actually quite funny really.
No Liverpool fans were arsed about our spending until we stopped them from winning the league.
We never got an entire country kicked out of Europe for five years
Human rights - What about the human rights of juve fans??
No arsenal fan was arsed about our spending until the bottle job now they are all up in arms

No one is arsed Chelsea spent half a billion - because they are still shit
No one really cares about Everton’s spending
No one really queries Liverpool and Leicester being done for ffp

And the best bit is the premier league I think thought they would get it all on the table this year when arsenal were nailed on to win the league and it would be easier
Well now look at it

It’s only because we’re winning

I probably agree with MS on Pep however, like to think the Club strategy, people and operations play a big part too.

Rarely get a signing wrong, let players go when surplus and excelling at all junior and Youth levels.

That is not down to Pep.

And wouldn’t one of the main witnesses be representing bdo a 12bn accountancy firm employing 80k people. The reputational impact from the premier league saying we don’t believe the auditors could be huge on the main charges.

From Pep’s statements it sounds like we have produced and it’s the PL that are dragging this out.

Probably aligns with what Sky are saying with the nodding dogs of Carragher and Neville, trying to assert that we are dragging our feet when the reality is the opposite.

Trusting in our club comes naturally for me and I’m 100% sure that they have absolutely nothing on us apart from us telling them that we won’t let them have insight to our business model and telling them to get fucked every time they ask.
Every man and his dog is now on about the charges, asterisks etc etc after it had been noted the story had cooled for the last month or so.

Very bizarre.

Could be a final hurrah to get more clicks traction and anti City bile before this nonsense ends in defeat and humiliation for the instigators.

I first heard the term 'Big 6' in the mid-late 70's by the likes of Jimmy Hill, with the 6 being City, utd, Everton, liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal and measured by clubs who could regularly attract 40,000 + crowds. The 'Big 5' would have remained as the 'Big 6' but for reasons we all know about....
Sorry, but I thought you meant this. they were all the rage in the 70s, too.
th

My mistake!
