PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

His car collection and two super yachts are worth more than his total investment at City. He’s made a fortune on City. I think he made over a billion profit when helped Barclays through the financial crisis in 2008.
State owned my arse.

Jeez, I thought we were still talking about Gallagher when I read that. \0/

Unfortunately it’s the green eyed jealousy mob, before FFP it was state ownership monsters with human right abuses and no decent club would let anyone with such a poor record on human right abuses own their clubs.

Fast forward a few years and Utd are getting giddy of the thought of Middle Eastern state ownership with poor human right records.

The article about Newcastle new shirt sponsorship deal being £30 million is ok because it is not as obscene as city’s. What a joke £40 million for our sponsorship deal including stadium naming rights as well as the shirt. Hardly anyone had heard of Etihad airways before the deal now the brand name is know everywhere.

Didn’t hear to many complaints when Utd got £60 million plus from Chevrolet which was above market value and the exec who signed it off got the sack for it

Why are you lot getting so wound up about Simon Jordan?

The only people who listen to that station are dim witted white van drivers while on a break from wolf whistling at women on the street.

I'm setting off for the VW dealership so i can continue to enjoy the station, just hope their will be a few birds knocking about on my drive home!

How do you know what the station is about if you don’t listen
Unless you are in a white van

Don’t forget to stop off at Selco for a bag is sand. (It’s where the trade goes).

I came across the term "outrage porn" the other day https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Outrage_porn (and before anyone asks, I was reading a book called 'The Subtle Art Of Not Giving A F*ck' which talks about it).

Describes Talkshite and most of the rest of the media very well. Basically it refers to manufacturing outrage to get people worked up about something.

In general use, outrage porn is a term used to explain media that is created not in order to generate sympathy, but rather to cause anger or outrage among its consumers.[11] It is characterized by insincere rage, umbrage and indignation without personal accountability or commitment.[7][12][6] Media outlets are often incentivized to feign outrage because it specifically triggers many of the most lucrative online behaviors, including leaving comments, repeat pageviews and social sharing, which the outlets capitalize on.[13] Salon, Gawker, and affiliated websites Valleywag and Jezebel have been noted for abusing the tactic.[14][15][7] Traditional media outlets, including television news and talk radio outlets have also been characterised as being engaged in outrage media.[16]: 12–13

Serie A docked points from Juventus with games remaining.

The Premier League made a statement and allowed it to get to the end of the season.

UEFA did something and little happened.

Italian football does appear stronger, whilst the PL and UEFA ruin their own brands.

Yep, sums it up well.

Is that book worth reading btw? I’ve had it on my Goodreads shelf for ages but keep reading other things ahead of it.

I read a lot of social science non fiction but some of them veer too closely into cheesy self help territory.

I'd be surprised if most don't recognise TS for being exactly that.

Its a bit of fun, light background listening, designed to cause reaction and debate.

Dont take it seriously, separate the wheat from the chaff, and enjoy.

It's an interesting read but a bit polemical. Adam Grant's 'Think Again' and Steve Peters' 'The Chimp Paradox' are both more measured and better in my view.

The Premier League have been going back and forth to the high court to get this moved along. They are also having to appoint and independent panel to deliver a decision, this shows they aren’t too confident in marking their own homework. What a mess this has turned into and we are no where near getting it towards some form of verdict and conclusion.

If the Premier league can put in legislation with the government to stop the Super League happening and if the other big six clubs don’t get the verdict they want. surely they can turn round and say the Premier League isn’t fit for purpose letting City winning their competition numerous times whilst this hangs over the club. They can then go and take their bat and ball off to start the super league.
