PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Have I imagined this, as the update seems to be mixed in with the usual ebb and flow of posts on the thread....

Last Sunday Khaldoon, Serrano and Masters had a chit chat. We informed the PL we have everything ready to go to resolve all the PL charges once and for all but requested the PL agree to our appeal for more independence on the PL disciplinary committee - ie to remove the only obstacle to start the process.
However Masters replied, "I cant do that as I am not involved any more, I have washed my hands of the matter"

can anyone confirm this pls ? eg @Prestwich_Blue

or threatened to throw him over a balcony

They already do , and have done since Pep rolled up , something quite perverse about our critics , they cream themselves watching the best team that this country has ever seen , then froth at the mouth with rage when they write their articles before bed time - rinse and repeat , you’ve only got to see duck lipped , coke snorting Rio as evidence, jumping up and down like he’s scored a free bag when Vini Junior scored - then openly admitting that Pep texted him pre Madrid , they literally don’t know their arses from their elbows, it’s beautiful to watch.
They are like the monks that punish themselves by self-flagellation if they have had some pleasurable thoughts.

It doesn't but if it's applied it excludes alot of charges as the op pointed, however it will be interesting to see whether it is applied or not, Unless pl rules explicitly mention that statue of limitations does not apply with regards to investigation into club finances, city will have a strong argument and even if it is mentioned question will arise whether pl rules can take precedence over a statue?i don't think it can

i don't agree with your assessment that club wouldn't be satisfied if the outcome is not guilty due to inadmissible or mistimed evidence, city would claim it as a victory and rightly so because when vultures are out to get you then victory is what matters , secondly, it will also prove city's point that this whole fiasco was a witch hunt where weak evidence was used while disregarding the laws of the country etc

The first point, is pretty much moot. The PL haven't applied it, the club haven't challenged it.

The second point, the club's position is pretty clear. So that is pretty much moot too.

The club claim and believe they are totally innocent and expect full exoneration. Once and for all. Which doesn't happen with timebarred or inadmissible dismissal.

Who was the journalist Pep sorted out here.

Definitely Rob Harris. There was a damage control interview(after being wrong about the way CAS would go) he did with Nick Harris and some other nobody if I remember right. Where he tried to justify the question and make himself look the victim. He also said "He didn't say no did he" with a smug grin on his face.

Here's a screen capture from that interview:

Rob Harris is the one with the big conk on the left. Nick Harris is the one with rosey red cheeks and glasses on the right.

If you think about his attitude in that FA Cup presser, he's like a kid, seeing what he can get away with, to impress the rest of the class. He probably walked away from it thinking "Wow, everyone must have thought I was the coolest journo in the room. The only one with the balls to ask". All he did, was insult Pep with no basis, whilst looking like a toddler throwing their toys because they didn't get their own way. Triggered because City made history by winning the domestic treble(in style).

What he was also too stupid to see, is he showed Pep something there without realising it. About how easily the press push these stories and how easily they believe their own unfounded shite. So he made himself look a complete tit and unintentionally strengthened Pep's belief, that club are the ones being honest in all of this and the press are happily spreading bollocks.

That's not the first time he's came out with petulant billy big bollocks shite like that before. I vaguely remember him justifying calling City state owned based on a similar line of reasoning("They've never denied it"). He also said something along the lines of "I know people at City and they're all nice to me when I go"(ie "nobody has the guts to say anything to me at the club"). It's almost like he reads this forum and knows blues get annoyed that the club pander to people like him with hospitality.

It's one of the reasons that listening to him and Nick talk about the nasty names they've been called on twitter and the suggestion of "threats of violence" on here and elsewhere, had me shaking my head(they deliberately goad the City fanbase at times). The pair of them know damn well Liverpool fans and United fans would have gone way further than any of that in a like for like situation. I can't decide which of them I can't stand more or which of them have the more punchable face(just an entertaining thought there, no more, before you spin it... You pair of Harrises).

One thing a lot of people are missing about the situation……..

Pep is very politically motivated with his Catalan background. He has been briefed by our hierarchy , he is currently relaxed about the situation even joking with the press who he mostly hates . His press conference straight after the PL charges announcement and the press free for all against us was magnificent, political and hard hitting. Our performances and sublime run since then simply phenomenal smashing everyone and everything throughout the EPL and the very best in Europe. Since we were crowned champions last Sunday the press hate campaign began again………. It was left to rag and dipper tribal lightweights Neville and Carragher to carry the agenda to Pep and City . Pep v those two cranks sums up the whole process to discredit our success.
Drink it in the final stages of rag and dipper dominance is about to end !

Like most old school blues on here, I spent my 20s and 30s winning arguments in pubs against the rags, who were winning trebles whilst we were playing Wigan and Gillingham to save our lives. Whether it was ‘you don’t come from Manchester’, Ryan Giggs not having parents or taking the piss out of the boat loads and plane loads of tourists, we scrapped for any bit of leverage we could find.

I think we need to deal with the fact that no matter what the outcome, enough mud has been thrown. Which was after all the main purpose. But compared with the above, winning the argument will be child’s play.

A lot of the media coverage is so transparently bitter and resentful now that I largely ignore or ridicule it. It’s certainly not going to hamper my enjoyment of what City are doing. Don’t really care about public perception any more either. Fans of Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal etc will hate us regardless. If it’s not these allegations then they’ll find another reason to try and besmirch our achievements. Fuck them all.

That question was irrelevant, indecent and disrespectful and showed Harris up to be the low-life he is. I thought Pep showed a lot of restraint and acted with class which is something Harris will never have. Pep's handling of the press this season has been brilliant and for me his answers to the charges is something I will always remember. Just imagine the way Ferguson or Mourinho would have handled it. Pep is absolute class on and off the pitch
