The only midfielders there's been links to are Kovacic, Veiga and Mac Allister, that was from Martin Blackburn. Every Chelsea Journalist has linked us to a move for Kovacic.

Keep hold of Gundy & Bernardo & that would be a really good transfer window midfield wise. Mac Alister is the least likely of those to sign.

We’ll end up with two or three that no one’s really thought of or know much about, which will happen within a couple of days out of the blue, and they’ll all be brilliant like Dias, Bernardo, Akanji etc

The top five threads on the transfer forum are Bellingham, Kane, Rice, Kimmich and Mac Allister.

Bellingham's joining Real Madrid, Kane is never coming to City, people are only talking about Rice because Bellingham isn't happening, Kimmich isn't leaving Bayern and it looks like Alexis Mac Allister is going to Liverpool.

I feel like there are zero decent links between us and any players.

A lot of city’s transfer business is dependent on who leaves so it’s understandable we have no solid links yet. We also have two big finals coming up. Once the season is finished and we get clarity particularly on Gundo and Bernardo then we will strengthen. The Gvardiol links are strong as we know Laporte is off.

Also, maybe we believe that Bellingham is still an option and that the media is wrong?

Kovacic and Rodri midfield provides you with two press resistant ball winners and deep playmakers that can win the ball back when we lose it and launch counters quickly. Kovacic is one of the best midfielders for progressing the ball to the attack as well.

To get a player of that quality for 30 to 40 mil is daylight robbery.

Kovacic is a quality player but he’s a downgrade on Gundogan and Bernardo.

It would represent a great window if we managed to keep one of the aforementioned and sign Bellingham and Gvardiol.
