Disagree. Rice and Bellingham are incredibly similar. Athletic, leaders, box to box, strong ball carriers, 6/8 hybrids. What I don't understand is the idea that Rice could be the alternative to Bellingham. Totally different players.
Rice isn't an 8.
Unless the plan is to use Lewis further forward and Rice rotates with Rodri and Stones.
If Bellingham had anything about him, maybe he’d realise that playing every game at a young age isn’t great for his growing body. He wouldn’t be a guaranteed starter at City just yet, but give it a couple of years he would be. In the mean time, he’ll be learning from the best coach in the world.Think the big money goes on Gvardiol this year. You can't buy every 21 year old hot shot. Bellingham and co demand a regular start in their preferred place. Neither Rice nor JB would not be in our strongest eleven right now. Rodri is the lynchpin, and KDB and Gundo are the brains of the outfit. Same with blowing it all on a crazy winger. Grealish, Bernado, Foden? How about an expensive LB, like Davies - what if we then don't want to play a traditional LB? All that money sitting there. Player unhappy.
Gvardiol, tho. We'll always need defenders. He can play any number of roles in the back three (plus one) system. Pep could develop something exciting for him, for sure. His speed in bringing the ball out is ridiculous. I want to see how that works with our team. It could be insane. I also suspect he has a big football brain and a very strong character.
Finally, we may well have a fairly clear run at him. Real/Bayern won't be blowing big money on that position, and PSG need a total rethink. Nearly all these teams - plus Chelsea - are looking at big money on a striker.
Signing a Croatian in time for the Champions League final, smart
BIG MACallisterBig meals?
Probably Luke Shaw.
I'm all in on Ake having a great year, but when you look at what KDB does he's still the most clutch player in the squad and not by a little...Think you are correct with Lewis....he lacks that bit of physicality to play as a tradtional fullback but he has the technical ability to play more central and is perfect for peps system at present. However when we lose walker in a season or two we will need another type of fullback to compliment Lewis
I think Ake has more than earnt his place at fullback for our team.....for me he was player of the season if you take out the obvious two in Haaland and Rodri...his al around game developed and he has laways been an excellent defender both in the air and on the ground..... Guerreiro will have to earn his place.
Gvardiol Ive only seen him against us and he looked poor and slow....but our attack can do that to anyone so hopefully he is another Akanji/Dias type signing
If they give him the 2+ year deal, he's probably staying, like reported before.
I think theyll tie down Gundo. Bernardo cant move if no one shows the cash... And if he leaves theyll find someone who fits.We can't just lose Bernardo and gundo in the same season. Bernardo has expressed his desire to leave whereas gundo wants reassurance of 2 years. Hopefully we hand the deal to gundo.
I think Kovacic could be fantastic for us.
It’s over - who’s next?
I put £3 on Kane to Madrid at 33/1, 3 weeks ago. (Lot of 3s in that sentance).Benzema has apparently told Madrid he’s leaving to go to Saudi - hardly a surprise given the terms of the deal he’s been offered by their government (rumoured) - but fuck me, he only won the Ballon D’Or less than a year ago!
Anyway. Get Kane to Madrid - saves them snooping at the Viking and makes sure Kane doesn’t go to the rags. Two birds, one stone.
He knew what was coming tbf so a last big pay day for him would be all he wants. He’s done everything there is I think hes retired from France also.Benzema has apparently told Madrid he’s leaving to go to Saudi - hardly a surprise given the terms of the deal he’s been offered by their government (rumoured) - but fuck me, he only won the Ballon D’Or less than a year ago!
