To be fair to them none of the people on that episode are City fans, they're not obliged to want us to win. I can imagine how, if I was a neutral*, it would be quite funny if the obviously better team in the final fell at the final hurdle before an historic treble, as a consequence of a much worse team playing crappy shithouse football (which was the context of Robyn Thingy's remark about how funny it would be).

I would have loved to see it happen to, say, Arsenal, if they had got to the CL final during one of their double-winning seasons in the early 2000s. (Leaving out United because I'm obviously not neutral about them). I agree that the Guardian FW is very unbalanced about City and some of the contributors are absolute dickheads (Auclair is my most hated), but I didn't take that particular remark to be out of order. I listen to BM podcast for the views of City fans.

*Underlining this bit for the benefit of the reading-impaired who are about to call me a rag or a dipper or whatever.

I think it is likely because CBS coverage is far, far more positive toward us, especially from Thierry Henry (much more so than Micah) and they also are much more complimentary and supportive of the players as they give live interviews, often covering for moments when the players are lost for words or may have said something shouldn’t have (like Rodri’s F bomb tonight).

Contrast with BT, where they are very negative and are always looking for a sound bite to twist and construe in whatever way paints us in the worst light.

Watching the likes of Rodri, Jack, Kyle, Erling, Kev, and Pep give interviews on CBS is both entertaining and heartening.

I honestly don’t even watch the BT or BBC coverage because our lads just say canned statements (because they have to with British media).
