The Conservative Party

People want someone more left wing. Like Jeremy Corbyn? How did that work out?

What a load of shite.
Well it's working out pretty fucking super under the current government pushing fear, hate, and ignorance whilst lining their own pockets isn't it?

Tory votes : 13,966,451
Labour votes : 10,295,912

So a difference of 3700 out of a voting population of 47,568,611

It was only the massive negative press campaign , electoral maps and Brexit that cost Labour.

You have absolutely no idea how close we came have you.?

In terms of votes actually cast, which I think I’m right in saying is the only thing that counts in an election - unless I have ‘no idea’ about that as well - it was the biggest margin of victory (defeat) since 1997.

Do you think John Major was really close to beating Blair as well?

Trouble is , under the current system, the distribution of a few thousand votes in a few key marginals has more influence than overall numbers do.
Not very democratic.

So wages were up 7.2%....

Not in the public sector.

Those in the private sector who haven't had a pay rise need not reply. The Tory advice is just get a better-paid job.
Some People have had another 37% pay rise for "sustained growth within the business" whilst their employees are told they have to accept a real terms pay cut and worsening of their contracts.

I'd love to know how the ONS collate the figures.

7.2%? Exactly not in the public sector. Been offered 1.5% just like last year.

Private sector pay was up 7.6% on that basis, public up 5.6%.

Both below inflation.

I hear our Armed Forces are having to use food banks more and more and in the meantime their pay rise has been delayed.

What a way to treat your public services, not just the Forces, with absolute contempt.

People’s pets? Are you suggesting that the government starts giving dog food tax credits or allowing your cat to sign on the dole?

No - how do you draw that conclusion from the article? What I am pointing out is under the Tories inflation UP - borrowing Rates up - Mortgage rates up - real world pay DOWN.

As a result people are struggling to even feed their pets now. Don't buy a dot to dot book you will be wasting your money

I’m just pulling your leg mate - for the avoidance of doubt, I don’t actually think that cats should be allowed to sign on to the dole.

Still, positive GDP data released this morning, all moving in the right direction. You must be pleased, right?
