My missus is terrible for it. I've told her that if I ever try to recall her face, all I get is a facial outline and a black rectangular shape stuck in the middle. She asked me the other day if I still found her attractive, I said I have no idea, I've not seen your mush for months.

I can kind of see where he's coming from in a wierd way. Someone in a pub reading a book seems more sociable to me that someone doing the exact same thing but on a kindle. My mrs reads loads on her kindle and to me it seems a bit 'cold' whereas the book just seems so much more acceptable. I am, howewer, an old twat with old school values.

Took me a while to get used to ebooks but I'd never go back to paper now, far too handy being able to carry around hundreds of books in your pocket and access them off any device.

I was determined to get used to reading books on my phone. Now I'm used to it it's great, always have my phone, places like doctors waiting room, bus etc.
Somebody gave me 2500 e-books, they're all on my phone.

I like having my library on my phone. I was sitting alone and wasn’t bothering anyone. I often feel sorry for the barmaids who have to listen to their boring stories and break up the inevitable scraps when someone has had too much.

The mrs has hers working off some ear pod things at work, it's like trying communicate with the dead, ignorant cow, she then complains when I shout to her.

Even worse are those fans that film themselves celebrating- it’s embarrassing and puts me off going.
Concerts are ruined nowadays with everyone standing there and filming constantly.

People filming everything at gigs & at the football is my pet hate. What's wrong with just living in the moment, enjoying what you're senses are telling you & creating memories in your brain?
Don't get me started on the TikTok coked up kids filming each other singing nursery rhymes on stadium concourses.

Having everything on your phone like banking etc scares me to death , i use my phone to talk and text , emergency internet if my broadband packs up and everything else is on a tablet that never leaves home

Probably, if the first thing you did every day was to pick up notepad/newspaper/camera and spend 90% of your day using them and hardly interacting with your fellow human beings.

We were in McDonalds the other day and a young mother came in with 2 toddlers, she got the happy meals and coffee for her, sat down and got her phone out, for the next hour she just stared at her phone, the kids were eating then wandering around bored, she seemed completely oblivious to them or what they were doing, obviously more interested in whatever she was reading.
See this a lot, like in kids playgrounds when I take my grandson. Feel like shouting "watch your kids & show interest in what they're doing"
Times have indeed changed.

Get on the tram, I'm a FOC...sometimes I feel like I'm the only one looking out the window.
