Jimmy might not fancy a bowl till after tea and suitably annoy them. crazy how defensive the field is to an 11 though.

Both stokes and ‘Baz’ have talked about reining it in at times, soaking up pressure when required. Some of the dismissals have been more reckless than aggressive imo

They're only reckless because they didn't come off, if they do they're aggressive!

We've done okay. Root's first stumping so can forgive his charge down the wicket, he's usually spot on. Brook should have weathered the loss of momentum rather than forcing things, but that's his style. Moeen could have done better. Robinson's a bowler so can forgive him swinging himself out.

Honestly, it gets a lot of criticism but playing more defensively I think this is exactly the kind of innings where we would have meekly ended up dragging ourselves to 200. Being on the front foot has turned that 200 into 270.

With all due respect you were saying similar things on day one , your frustration is not due to whats happened during the course of the test , just you don't like the bazball freedom , which ia fine nothing wrong with being more of a purist , it just shouldn't come as a suprise
