Watching Fred again over coffee. Not my bag really but will have a listen to see what all the fuss is about
 
So in a couple of years when there are no "iconic" bands still out there plying there trade who will take the Headliner slots ? By the very use of the word Headliner it infers that the band/act is above the mainstream, and have reached a level that even if your not a fan of the band/act you would watch them because it's an event , that crowd at GnR didnt really care that Axl can't sing anymore, it was a chance to see an iconic band in the flesh, Slash with a Gibson slung low against a dark sky with his customary hat, is an iconic image, who out of the new generation can match that ?

Not a lot of modern "bands" can match it. There's a few that are of the generation or a few generations younger than Guns n Roses that'll likely still be able to headline for the next 10 years or so.

Coldplay, Arctic Monkeys, Radiohead, an Oasis reunion, Blur, Gorillaz. All have headlined before and could again, but even the youngest of those are AM and they've been around almost 20 years.

It doesn't seem there's many bands of the last 10-15 years that fit the bill, I think Tame Impala headlined before.

But anyway there will probably be more emphasis on pop headliners, the likes of Ed Sheeran and so.

But you never know, there might be another wave of guitar bands that will spawn some very big bands that could headline but its been about 20 years since a real wave of guitar bands that were mainstream happened.
 
The people managing Capaldi and the ones in his inner circle need to be having a word with themselves...

I bet he's not had a day off in 5 years. He's been on every TV show, Radio Station, Festival all in-between several World tours.

What started out as a few involuntary twitches is now debilitating to the point where he can't sing.

Really sad to see!

Can't wait for take that and their 264th reunion to headline!

Music evolves amd changes, what someone brought up through the 60s-00s may deem a worthy headliner those after may prefer something else.

personally none of the headliners were the best performances of the weekend up to now.
