And an enormous back catalogue of hits. Perfect for a Glastonbury crowd. They would be brilliant

I don't even know how she can turn up 30 minutes late for her set, you have to be on site all day usually because tour buses and whatever is transporting gear have scheduled slots for arrival and departure because of the chaos of the backstage and loading areas. So its not like she wouldn't have been there for hours.
Speechless. For all of the GNR legend stuff, they really dont have the back catalogue to keep a festival headline crowd going for that long a slot.
So was Axl last nightSpeechless.
I don't know, the crowd seemed to be loving GnR.
They've never been my cup of tea but just look how the crowd reacted to some worldwide classics throughout their set. That's why they're headlining. That's why they sell out stadiums worldwide.
Lizzo couldn't pull that off, lets be honest, most people couldn't name 3 songs of hers.
Don't hold your breath.
The band, particularly Clem Burke, are excellent. Debbie tries, but simply can't hack the vocals any more.
Rory Gallagher was a bit pre punk wasn’t he, broke the mould of the BOF music (as NME called boring old fart) of the early 70’s, Pink Floyd type of music. Very raw guitar playing, utterly brilliant but not commercially mainstream. I bought one of his albums on the back of seeing Rory on the OGWT where I think he made a few appearances with Whispering Bob and Annie Nightingale as hosts. His guitar looked like something he’d rescued from a skip but he made it sing, I’m ashamed I’d forgotten about Rory when I listed some all time great guitarists, he’s definitely up there with the best.Sorry mate - would have been a lot easier to type Rory Gallagher.
Listened to an interview where Slash was talking about his musical influences and I can't remember whether it was one of his studio albums (Deuce etc) or Irish Tour but it apparently blew his socks off.
Around the similar time also saw Johnny Marr speaking about Rory and sighted the same thing. Listening to one of his albums completely changed the way he approached the guitar (which I'd never really heard in Marr's playing before).
He was also playing Rory's strat (the one in the picture I attached).........
To be honest, if he hadn't been in the Pistols, he'd just be another backing musician.Glen Matlock is on bass too
I know right. Very very odd take.Speechless.
I'm talking about performance. I didn't have a clue about Lizzo before yesterday, but I was far more impressed by her stage show than GnR's, and I'd be more inclined to go to one of her shows than theirs.
Having a lot of well-known songs is one thing. Delivering them in an entertaining manner is another.
IndeedTo be honest, if he hadn't been in the Pistols, he'd just be another backing musician.
I doubt that many people will be watching just to see Glen!
Why, their catalogue is fine for their fans but for a festival crowd not made up of solely their fans , its correct.
They only made 6 studio albums, one of covers and Chinese Democracy which was fucking shit
I forgot about Knocking on Heavens' Door...A GnR song!?!
Heathen........... ;-)
not if you don't like them much or know their back catalogue. Plus, they are bobbinsI know right. Very very odd take.
Thankfully that ship sailed years ago. They've never had to pimp themselves out like the rest, they’ll just stick to selling stadiums out around the world playing to their own fans.Waiting for Depeche Mode to finally stop their Glastonbury spat and agree to do a set. Just one. Doesn't have to a headline, could be legend, just get it done. Top band live.
Just wished Dylan was on vocals last night.lolI forgot about Knocking on Heavens' Door...
Another GnR classic :p
