Much obliged - looks to be in decent nic.

Apparently NY played one for a bit in the '90's which started the alarm bells ringing as a 'must bid'.

It's a punt but worst case scenario it will hold it's value..........
If you buy a second hand Martin, like Gibson it'll always hold it's value, probably increase over the years, owning one of these guitars will cost you nothing. That's the way to look at it.

Outbid last knockings at £445 :-(

I stupidly didn't up my limit as I thought I would have more time to bid if someone outstripped me.

Trying to multitask taking out the 2 year old for a walk and bidding on guitars isn't that easiest.............

Never mind mate, there will always be another :)

Resurrecting this thread as my wife was about to sell her old guitar she doesn't play anymore..for some reason I said keep it and I'll have it as I don't have to study in the evenings anymore. I'm 37 and have never picked one up in my life!
Any good places to start? I'm guessing apps/youtube is the place to go now? Any help appreciated!

Just start by learning the basic chords like E A D C F G
Learn the fingerings and practice changing from one to the other.

I have bought about 6 over the years - practice mull of kin tyre for a week, give up as my fingers are sore and have ended up being hit by it by a disgruntled ex wife with it at some point.

One day I will be able to play.
Mull Of Kintyre is a good shout. Basic and gets you going with 3 chords. I started with that in about 1984. I can play lead guitar now on a blue Fender Telecaster with custom City scratchplate. Lol.

It's free and he is good. Don't be put off how hard it is before you can play something well. People give up too quick.

Can't stand Sultan's of swing but that good mate.

Geetars cool with the City........
I quite like the track, but I get that it can grate. Very good backing track for training purposes, scale runs, pentatonics, free forming (lol), etc. I am very limited. Oasis stuff is brilliant for my level, so easy. Roses too, some anyway. I don't practice now, not picked that beautiful axe up for a year. Nuts. Blackstar amp, excellent. Boss multi-effects unit, a bit shit.

OK. Fair enough. Here it is and it's not great playing, I know that.

Well done mate.
I used to play and sing that at gigs.
Can I suggest taking some of that reverb off, as you know Knofler played "dry" without any reverberation.

Bumping this thread, cos far away the best and most engaging online guitar tutor out there, James James (aka Privettricker), has returned to YouTube just as suddenly as he quit the platform 3 years ago. Bloke’s an absolute legend…..
