Apparently, it's a " classic example of a disputed plural".Apparently not, I had to google it as rooves seemed plausible (given the plural of any words ending with an f is ves, eg elf and elves, shelf / shelves, loaf / loaves) and rooves is indeed correct as a plural for roof - roofs is originally the plural in the US only however is now most commonly used. Can’t say I’ve ever seen rooves used apart from above.
