Inter Milan (N) | Champions League Final | Post Match Thread

Has anyone got any videos of the full time whistle? Either own recorded or TV footage? I particularly want a video where Walker runs towards the fans. I had a great view of this in the top tier and Walker was the signal that we had done it, sounds sad but that will be etched in my memory forever, one of the best moments of my life. Thanks

For me it won’t get better than the last couple of months , fifty plus years since my first game at Maine Rd and over forty years as a season ticket holder . Been contemplating wether to call it quits , don’t know if that’s a reaction to the constant stress and pressure of every game.
After the final whistle in the stadium I asked if anyone wanted to buy my season ticket as Id now seen it all, football complete, then I had tear in my eye and a little chuckle that my old man at home had been waiting 70n odd years for this, i managed to facetime him before I got on the bus to hell just inn case we didnt make it back!

went to the game and honestly dont remember much about it, watched it back in full last night for the first time, not our best performance but fair play to inter the almost pulled it off we defo deserved to win and that goal wow, but what i do have to say is how proud i am of the team the club and the fans im still on cloud nine, and i ask myself is this it is this as good as it gets will we ever feel so on top of it again.

This is peak Manchester City and you are living it mate. It'll never get better than this, you are watching the best coach to ever grace the game, and he is managing your club. And to think we have fans turning down going to games because they are on a Sunday, or going to games and not singing. Going to be a lot of regrets once Pep leaves.

There will be more leagues and more European cups and more everything. But I do suspect this will be as good as it gets. We are on a very, very short list of teams that have done a treble, and an even shorter list that have done it in a big and competitive league in the modern era. There's a slim chance that Pep squeezes one more out of us while he is here, or in the immediate aftermath of him leaving, but enjoy every second of it while you can.

It's immense really. Most thought that for us to win the CL it would be at the expense of the PL.

It really is. We chased down a very good Arsenal side, beat United in the cup final, and demolished Bayern and Real before breaking down a stubborn Inter in the final. Go back to even Mancini or Pellers and you'd still not be able to tell me it was around the corner. I always thought we'd get over the CL hump one way or another, but it's just dreamland.

The enormity of achievement by City achieving a treble will become clearer over time.

- We chased down an Arsenal side that was flying and looked certain PL Champions well into 2023.
- The rags had won the Carabao Cup and were on for a double (and even quadruple according to some quarters) with the added incentive of being a spoiler for City in the FA Cup final.
- City actually beat all the other favourite teams apart from Napoli to win the CL so cannot be accussed of an easy passage or even a flukey win against the run of play in any game.

The winning mentality is now ingrained throughout MCFC. Imagine if next year we won every competition and "the best team in the land and all the world" became prophetic without dispute. It would silence all critics including those pedalling the 115 charges fiction as truth.

There's a fair few who don't realise how fortunate we are.

Similar kit and colours, between them what a ride
Paul Dickov and Rodrigo, to Turkey from Moss Side
There's Ball and Guardiola and Swales and Sheikh Mansour
But it doesn't matter who's in charge we're Blues forever more
We've seen things they'll never see or even understand
All the way from Division 3 to the best team in the land
We've won the league, we've won the cups and conquered Europe too
We kept the faith and sang our songs to cheer the boys in blue
For those who saw the dark days and followed wide and far
We won't forget our journey, unique is what we are
