I don’t know the ins and outs of the law mate. But I’m sure it’s frowned upon if not actually against the law for people in a position of authority to have sexual relationships with students under their control, even if they are adults.

Maybe it’s a standard condition of their terms of employment. I don’t know.

My one and only point is that is why the guy got sacked. Rightly or wrongly. And not because of a spurious claim of racism from a player looking for revenge because she wasn’t getting in the team, as is regularly churned out.

IIRC, it’s a position where undue influence is assumed by the courts.

It is certainly something that would get a teacher sacked, even if the pupil was 18. And indeed prosecuted, as the law forbids it.

On the other hand, if you wait for the pupil to leave school, it's ikky but not illegal. A certain former Head of Ofsted did exactly that. We must of course assume that nothing was going on while she was in school. To suggest otherwise would be monstrous.
