China - Impressions.

I'm almost at the end of a 3 month visit here and have found the people friendly, welcoming, helpful and curious about me. There also appears to be little crime and the police presence is low key as long as you follow the laws.

I wondered if any others on the forum have visited/worked here and what their thoughts are about the country?

Apart from some strange things with personal hygiene and an annoying lack of respect for personal space, wonderful people and wonderful place, great food. Would recommend China to anyone who can behave normally.

I worked offshore there in the 90’s and spent a good deal of time in Shanghai and a place called Ningbo.. The people were really friendly and welcoming everywhere I went ..
Don’t think they had seen many westerners in Ningbo as they followed us around the place chattering like birds and pointing at us…

I’d like to go back one day ..
