You're totally disregarding the fact that Mahrez and Bernardo as good as they've been are also a big product of their environment. City is a machine at this point built on a rock solid foundation. The only ones saying anything different are the wishful thinking haters and the panicky flappers...Especially when on the other wing Grealish numbers are even worse .8 goals in 2 season at city .We are building a team with very high reliance on Haaland and Kdb for goals .
In fairness, there is a difference between saying Alvarez is a great talent and saying he has proved himself at City.if you dont think Alvarez has proved himself yet you obviously haven’t seen him play much and must have missed the World Cup. The young man is a phenomenal talent.
You mention Palmer, I also think him and McAtee are viable options in that position.
How well he fits is still undetermined. This is not to say he is not Uber talented.
His 2 best positions are currently occupied by Halaand and Debruyne. He is a little loose with the ball compared our other attacking players. But he is also dynamic and confident in ways lots of our players aren't.
Sterling, Foden, and Palmer are better on the right. So what's the point there?Alvarez has not proven that yet. Almost every forward at City has been claimed to possibly have his best position on the right side by some here :) Didn't we say that about Sterling, Torres, Jesus, Foden, Palmer? If Mahrez leaves, a natural winger is needed imo.

One thing to think about Mahrez is player that you can always rely on to be fit, he’s rarely injured compared to our other wingers. Phil’s injury record is not the best , neither is Palmers. Mahrez is always available
Makes zero sense. Is this some new method being applied by the Saudis? And I'm only half joking...Very good of them to schedule a medical and they haven’t even submitted an offer..

17 Goals in his first season with City is impressive he’s scored every 148 minutes and this is considering he didn’t always play as a number 9. His link up play was good last season and shown a good range of passing for a striker, good with his right and left and presses well. The best thing is players usually get better after there first season under Pep, I think the future is bright with Alavrez and I’m confident he’ll only get better next season.

It is funny to see many fools here discussing Alvarez as right wing option when Pep specifically said in many press conference that he will not play him there and he wants him to play centrally as a striker or behind the striker.

Don’t think he’ll play on the wing but hey you never know who thought Jesus would spend the majority of games in the 2021/22 season on the RW

Probably for the next season or so. We need to gradually phase Grealish, Foden or someone else (possibly a new signing) into that position as KDB's fitness and stamina are a little suspect and he is into his 30s.I think a fit KDB will always start in City’s best eleven.

I get the point and no doubt he would rather play there too. However with Mahrez going by the looks of things, us losing Gundogan already and with Bernardo rumoured to be wanting away, original plans can change. He has proved he can play there already aswell.
If Haaland remains fit we also risk pissing him off by not playing him enough…. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out come the season.
