If it's a player who is towards the end of his career and doesn't think he is in a position to win anything - fine

If it's a younger player just established and thinks, I'll take this for now and come back to the real game at 26/27 - that's a gamble. Will they still be relevant or at the same level as CL teams having played in a goat's farmer/shepherds league for 4 years.
No chance of the Balloon Dor, miss out on International teams possibly?

A younger player needs to ask himself - why did I come into this? It maybe different from country to country. And how much is enough.

More than that, the talk is it will be a 1 year deal to still allow him to join Madrid on a free. Admittedly those details could turn out to be bollocks, but if true it seems like Saudi are for whatever reason doing Qatar a favour. I don’t know why they are doing that, but the whole deal stinks.
 
Hate Paris, hate Madrid but this I don't like at all.

It doesn't feel like when China went mental and signed everyone. It feels like a proper shift. When they decide to come for Haaland for example, what stops them?
 
This could spell the end of FFP - it’ll be slow and painful but eventually… UEFA and the PL may need to release the shackles to allow external investment into some clubs to compete with some of these outrageous investments.

Exactly! Mbappé can go wherever he wants. PSG will listen to any offer (according to themselves), so offer them something really low and then offer Mbappé 5mil/week, oir however much he wants.

Or is this perhaps a buddy-way to make PSG's finacial books look ok?

If we were offered 259 million for Haaland, there would be a new FFP rule made up in no time at all to say we can only put through market value, say 150 million on our books for FFP purposes
