Danny Kelly is one fat odious gobshite of the highest order....
Yep, for a fat old guy he constantly harps on about playing football at “Hackney Marshes”. He’s so fat I doubt he ever splayed any other position than goalkeeper, he probably had more clean sheets than Eddie due to the fact he filled the net, horrible Spud wanker.

I’ll bet he was one those kids who had to be a goalpost !

He harps on about an age he loved, but even back then blokes were moaning about £1 million players on £500 per week! The same lot who used those excuses to give up attending to either stay in the pub or to sit on their grubby armchairs watching Grandstand.

He gets the air of publicity because the anti City press love a martyr who hates Arabs.

The media are right about one thing: Money is ruining football and the game can't last much longer unless action is taken.
They've been saying this since 1905 when Alf Common became the first player to be transferred for £1,000 when he went from Sunderland to Middlesbrough.

Funny how the first million pound player is currently being immortalised by the media. No mention of Forrest 'buying the european cup' a la City and everything we've won in the last ten years

Misery loves a friend & in shindler it has one, it's funny how some people always look on the past as if it was perfect when in reality it had the occasional good day but mostly shite . I was trying to think of the scientific word for it a bit like Stockholm syndrome, couldn't think of one so going with Bellend syndrome.

He sounds like he has problems by wanting to live in the passed so much. I started a thread about the old days lol but bloody hell give this City any day of the week.
His book ' how man utd ruin my life', didnt ruin my life it made me. It gave me an even deeper love of my club and my birthday place. It gave me the sence of gallows humour which I love, the bananas, self mocking songs. The pride of wearing my City even in the 3 division.

Now I wear my City gear as a badge of honour as a FOC. It says been to the 3rd division and now top of the world. What a journey.

I havent read his book. I dont plan to.

I dont see how a so called fan wouldnt watch the CL, my dear old mum and dad would have loved to still be here to watch this City.
The work our owner has put into their City.

Each to their own but he doesnt sound like a die hard fan to me
In a nutshell. Great post.

I read Schindler's book when it came out and as a close contemporary I identified with the passages about the bad old days when we still stood by a crap team and the redemption of the Mercer-Allison years. Then he became weird and the book went to a charity shop years ago.

I get that in those days football seemed similar, turn up buy your ticket, football on the way out.
That isnt the world we live !
I expect every City to be loving our success especially us FOC any our fans back in the 90's. I like to be abit bigheaded and say if it wasnt for us fans back than we might not be here now.

Now instead of get stick for being shit the press/media try other ways. The more shit they throw the stronger my love grows for City.

Once those charges were throw at us last season it felt like a huge change in our support to me. It seemed the whole club, fans, players, management came together with a fucking big 'fuck off' lol.
Us fans seemed louder , more piss taking songs and that wonderful 'I'll follow you anywhere ' lol that's so bad it's funny.

It's great to see our younger fans getting louder and bringing up new songs
Just as an aside - I keep seeing FOC being used in many threads and when I search for what it stands for I get a number of options - none of which seem relevant.

Knowing that I will be embarrassing myself with this question - can someone please tell me what it stands for

I bet Schindler is one of those two bob millionaire types that seemed to run Manchester back in the 70's and 80's (City had one as Chairman). Who seemed to have easy access to the main entrance at Maine Road for no particular reason than they had a few quid and knew someone. Stayed behind after the match quaffing free brandy and smoking fat cigars while laughing about the stupid plebs in the rest of the ground who'd forked out their own hard earned to watch another abject performance. Then the takeover came with real business men with real money and they were no longer part of the hierarchy. "Nose out of joint" is my theory which is based on absolutely nothing.

Maybe a reverse or self- schadenfreude, taking pleasure from one's own misery...
