So Mahrez is £30m but Fabinho is £40m?

My post said that there "goals/assists and playing time were very close again this season", which was what people were replying to. I think Alvarez is definitely the better "City player", but Nunez is a fast, powerful player, instinctive player who gets himself into a huge number of shooting positions. I find the Andy Carroll stuff funny, but realistically, Nunez is way beyond his level.Whilst I agree with some of what you have said, Alvarez and Núñez didn’t have similar records.
Julian performed better in the league, despite having started 6 fewer matches, playing what many would argue was out of his favoured position.
Núñez had more than twice as many shots off target, higher rate of possession being lost, nearly half the successful lay-offs (his build up play was pretty poor), and fewer successful take-ons.

He was not only better value, but simply better, full stop.
Perhaps Núñez will improve this coming season. But they definitely didn’t have similar levels of performance, even ignoring the difference in trophy hauls.

I just find it amusing that players of our rivals are nearly always "rubbish" or "total shit" - put them in the Southampton or Brighton team and this site would give them a fair hearing, but stick them in a Liverpool or United team and they're abysmal. I know it's in part the nature of fandom, but it just feels off sometimes to me - I suspect it's partly because I enjoy beating teams that I consider to be impressive :)
Well yeah. Sign for a team that is supposedly aiming to be title challengers and you'll be judged more harshly than if you sign for a team that's just aiming to stay in the league. How is that a contradiction? McAllister has been brilliant so far for Brighton and Argentina, but he's been brought into Liverpool to help them win the title. That means he has to be world class now. He needs to be 8 out of 10 every week. He needs to regularly dominate the midfield against other top teams. If he doesn't do that, you'll sell him in a few years, finally admitting that he wasn't that good after spending the previous two years claiming that he's the best in the world in his position, like you did with Fabinho.I just find it amusing that players of our rivals are nearly always "rubbish" or "total shit" - put them in the Southampton or Brighton team and this site would give them a fair hearing, but stick them in a Liverpool or United team and they're abysmal. Of course he's not shit. The bloke is among the tiny % of humanity that are elite athletes and his fitness levels alone will be beyond what most of us could comprehend. Having said that, I don't think he'd get on our bench and certainly not in our team.My post said that there "goals/assists and playing time were very close again this season", which was what people were replying to. Not disputing people at the top in our country are cunts What we supposed to do though move to a desert Island? There are extremes and you know it. Saudi is as extreme and as oppressive as you can get.Maybe he could host MOTD for the BBC, the same organisation that covered up Paedos & lies when the Government needs the public on its side to invade Iraq. The same organisation that has never accused the Blair government of war crimes. When we accuse other nations we should look objectively at how this country behaves. We may not execute people but we are partial to carpet bombing schools & hospitals.

It trades - with criticism - that's why we're discussing it. At least we can criticise and highlight issues in this imperfect country. Is Saudi more likely to become less oppressive with the worlds eyes on it or stay the same? It’s clear the regime is going through changes, those changes historically have put these countries leaders at risk as they moved too quickly for the general population. The majority of the nation believes homosexuality, alcohol & freedoms we take for granted should be a crime but this will change.
It’s a disgrace a player should get abused for accepting the best deal he can get when the UK trades with Saudi without without any criticism. If the UK media opposed all trade & those profiting whilst highlighting crimes by our own then there would be no issue. It’s gaslighting to blame a player who backed LGBT issues for wanting to do this. The only answer to that for future players is don’t support LGBT then you won’t be called out when a good offer comes in.

What riles right thinking people is Henderson's shameless hypocrisy. He clearly has little moral backbone and one must doubt his true devotion to causes he purports to support. People quite rightly detest self-seving, selective hypocrisy.
Furthered himself on the back of weasel words.
Depends on whether you're replacing a midfield that won the league and was challenging on all fronts. I personally think Klopp had played a blinder. He's brought in some real talent to replace some tired legs. I'm not entirely sure Klopp's teams play a highly technical form of football, but I also don't believe they are hoofball like some on here say. So, I'm sure 'bedding in' won't be an issue. No idea what to expect this season. Can anyone think of any other instance where a top club lost 5 potential first team midfielders (6 if you count Carvalho) in one go like that? I mean, sure, we have made a couple of strong signings but in what world can you throw 3 brand new players into the midfield for gameweek 1 and hope to challenge City?

If he only had a passing interest - yes. If he was a footballer with a genuine and heartfelt wish to support the cause loyaly then - no.So should he have refused to support LGBT issues & said I’m a footballer not a politician?
£700k a weekIf you ask one hundred RAWK cult members if they would turn down £700k a week due to their faux human rights outrage, you'd be lucky to get into double figures.
Can you imagine a Scouser turning down £700k a week? No, neither can I.
I’m not sure he’s played a blinder as such yet Malg.Depends on whether you're replacing a midfield that won the league and was challenging on all fronts. It's like supporting nuclear disarmament, but then going to work for Lockheed Martin for more money. Hardly deep conviction.
Argue around the houses all you want - but he looks greedy and lacking integrity.
It will eventually, but dropping any flimsily held belief for money looks like exactly what it is. Dressing it up as some sort of breaching, infiltrateing and attempted liberalisation of Saudi culture is stetching it and gives him far too much credit for what is purely a self-serving, greed fuelled endeavour.Players are pushed into yes / no situations & it the becomes Henderson refuses to condemn or Henderson refuses to support.
Look at what happens each year with poppies on the shirts.
Personally I believe western players with western values playing in Saudi opens up more liberal thinking.
