In the stadium there seemed to be a split second where time stopped, the last 5/10 mins were frantic and there seemed to be a palpable exhale of breath as we realised the whistle had gone for full time, as we were at the other end of the stadium we couldn’t hear the whistle and only the players running towards us indicated it. After that exhale it was pandemonium, people were in tears everywhere I compared it to 2012, my first thought was my dad at home but couldn’t get a signal to ring him until just before I got on a yellow bus (that couldve been the last time I talked to him as I thought we would die on them buses ha ha). I do t think that came across on tv but time stood still as everyone realised what we had done, I don’t think the treble even came into my mind until about 10 mins later that was just the cherry on the cake.

I’d resigned myself to thinking we weren’t winning that game. I was there with four close friends one of whom I’ve been best mate with for 53 years, what a night, ended up having a burger and a cup of Turkish tea in Kadikoy at 5am, no booze available but it didn’t matter. Got back to the hotel and I had a can of lager quietly contemplating what we’d achieved, been going to City for a long time, first match was 1967 when my Dad took me as his Saturday job was suspended, he used to settle bets at a Bookmakers (he was a Housing Officer during the week!) but horse racing was off due to foot and mouth disease. I count myself as a lucky fella football wise, wouldn’t swap one moment.

I do think, and I reluctantly include myself in this, felt the final was a little bit of the ‘after the lord Mayor’s show. I was devestated not to be there.
But I watched with some good blues, one had bet on us to win 6-0. I think after we beat Real Madrid some were guilty of assuming it was won. A bit like the FA Cup final, the elation was somewhat subdued compared to beating United.

But I don’t know a single blue who’s not been ecstatic in the weeks since.

I run a midsized local business and have a good few regular customers who are blues of all ages. And to a man, woman and child, have all been overwhelmed with what happened..

Very much so, my Dad was a Blackpool fan, when my Mum passed in 2019 I took him there just after Oyston had been forced out, we went corporate and he had a great day, passed last year but City was his second team and he managed to see the comeback game v Villa, this is him on the day at Blackpool.

The only goal I have never cheered properly was Augero 9320. As the move built up it was like watching a film (like an out of body experience). When he scored I slumped down into my seat in a state of shock. I just watched the hysteria going on around me. It was a state of pure bliss. Almost spiritual. I didn't really start cheering till I was in the pub two hours later. This is what football does to you. And the person who wrote that hate-filled bile about our fans being "subdued" will never understand that feeling. Perhaps that's why he doesn't connect with his football-loving family (as he implied in the article).

My experience of that Aguero moment was the same.

I could see that it was happening, that it really was about to happen after all the drama and angst of that afternoon.. but in that split-second you’re not sure if it WILL actually happen.

I remember putting my hands on the shoulders of my friend’s son in the seat in front of mine, saying ‘Here it is!’ as Sergio shaped to shoot and then everything was a blur after he planted the ball pass Kenney.. next thing I can remember, we’re all in the aisle next to me, the guys sitting behind me falling over me and sundry others around who’d leapt out of their seats too!

Fast forward eleven years to the ‘Rodri Moment’ and it was just as exciting and unexpected as Aguero’s ‘93.20’, even though it was watching it on tv and not live in the stadium.

But, given how the game has developed in recent years, this magic moment came with a caveat.. VAR.

After leaping up again with my family on seeing Rodri score, my immediate joy was then tempered by questioning ‘There’s no way there’s any offside or foul there.. is there?’

Then when it was confirmed, more ecstasy, bliss, whatever you want to call it..! The greatest footballing moment I’ve ever experienced, to see my club do that, the treble, after everything we Blues have been through in my lifetime.

So, stick that in yer pipe and smoke it, ‘Jason Grimsby’ and all the partial media johnnies who seek to undermine us.. you’ll never take that away from us.

Oh and haven't we had some shite. The Rags would have given us Phil Jones for free if they could have swapped us for the shite since 93:20!

Noticed Slimy Stone uses Euros not Pounds also, Onana deal was in Pounds by him.
He is gutted its not a record as they cannot beat us with a stick over it though i do see he allowed comments on his BBC report and right on time all the FFP, not fair comments are posted (no comments on the Dippers defeat though)
