General Videogame Thread

Get one now, the slim will probably be around a similar price as the digital and then you’ll pay extra for a detachable disc drive, im even contemplating getting one now with that price drop. Only thing is whether there is going to be a Pro version, but it’s already 3 years since release and they reckon the PS6 could be put within 3-4 years.
Yea that detatchable disc thing sounds daft to me, so probably going to take the plunge and buy one now. Might go for a 2 game deal and sell the games to bring the price down even more.

I'd buy it now, there's no actual release date for the slim yet and it will cost a premium when it's out. Also it's worth getting the disc version as in the long run it's cheaper to buy second hand games from cex than download games. And you can always resell them when you've finished
The digital version is a definate no go for me. Think Im going to go for it now. Thanks for the advice.

Check the prices on the games in CEX first pal, you might be better just buying the console on its own. Go onto AVforums for second hand games as well some good bargains on there and don’t buy PS plus or whatever it’s called direct unless they’ve got a good deal on, try CDkeys they usually have some deals.

Just checked how much the games were going for on ebay, be lucky to get 20 quid for both. Not worth the hassle, console only it is. Thanks for the advice mate.

Is anybody else here looking forward to Starfield? If it lives up to its hype, it may well be the only game I’ll be playing for the rest of my life!
I'm really hoping it lives up to the hype Bethesda's last few offerings have been poor in comparison to Skyrim, Oblivion, Fallout 3/NV

”Another settlement needs your help. I’ll mark it on your map.”

So many settlements I helped in Fallout 4 after being chased down by Preston, so much time that never comes back…

Absolutely Diablo 4 has been such a let down, kids go back to school and Starfiled is released perfect week, think I’ll be on it a while.

Getting cold on playing games now I dont get the buzz anymore! Probably Starfield be my last game if i dont get into it! Elden Ring was the last one but after going through it 4 times am not interested in it anymore maybe the dlc will get me back into it!

I'm struggling with finding the time these days. I casually hop in and out of playing MW2 online for a few games and enjoy the odd few games of fifa a week.

Not got the time for big open world games anymore and when I do, I often find them a chore with side quests and puzzles etc. In some ways it's great as don't need to buy any new games and getting a good lifespan out of the ones I have.

It would take something huge (ie GTA6 which isnt out for ages) to draw me back in if I find the time.

Same for me, don’t have enough time. But I don’t like playing online, I suck at competetive shooters. So a slow RPG at friday nights, when the wife and kids are sleeping, are a perfect way to wind down after a hard week…
