It's an insane amount of money when you look at someone like Vlahovic going in the same league for €70m a couple of seasons ago. Similar age and profile, but with two seasons of scoring over 20 goals under his belt already.

And yet despite the insane price, it's ironically evidence that they're going for the budget option, because his wages won't be insane. The old Man Utd would have just gone all out for Kane or some other world class striker.

It was mentioned on the Tifo youtube channel. Basically his transfer fee would have been a bit more, but add on his wages and he'd end up being over twice the price over the course of his contract. The reality is that they can't afford him.
 
I said to a rag neighbour of mine, for all the slagging off of DeGea he was an excellent shop stopper, while this new lad will be able to pass the ball out better from the back he will not stop some of the shots that DeGea would make. Kind of like robbing Peter to pay Paul.

To get the best out of the new keeper they need to upgrade their entire defence.
 
I also can't understand why their manager wanted a big daft dopey fucker up front for them last season and then spunks a shitload on this guy.
