As the commentator said, no team since 2011 has won this and then gone on to lift the prem. Remember last year when Liverpool beat us, Nunez scored and Haaland missed a sittter, scoucers were giddy as fuck.

Let Arsenal have their meaningless trinkets, they're welcome to them. Is it sour grapes to say that their reaction to winning was way ott, small time and embarrassing?

Congratulations to Arsenal on winning the we beat Man City Cup. I guess they don't intend to fight for the actual trophies, just like Spurs. Besides, this will provide some much-needed motivation for our lads. It should remind them what it feels like to lose a football match and thus make them hungry for the wins again.
 
Attwell had a stormer for Arsenal there and when it mattered most, he stood up to be counted.

This season is going to be a hoot as we play till they score if we are winning and we will get fuck all like that back if we need it.

I've said it before but it would be silly to loan him out... We need goals in this team and he at least gives us something on that side. Bobb and Mcatee may be potentially good players but they didn't score goals in EDS like Palmer did.
 
Can't say I'm hugely bothered really.
In the context of the actual game itself a draw was probably a fair result. It was frustrating to concede are an own goal like that ,but imagine how gutted we would have been had that happened in any of the final 2 games of last season.
We continue to be shit at penalties though!
Though we normally win shoot outs at Wembley don't we!
 
You would think our keepers think the idea is to jump out of the way of the ball.
Horrible luck, but we rode it a couple of times last year when it really mattered.
 
Means fuck all really ( well apart from Arsenal) but why are we constantly so shit at penalties. Ortega was the worst goalkeeper performance I have ever seen in a shoot out, just stood quietly on his line looking about 2 feet tall with token dives. Why not move, jump up and down, wave your arm, clap your gloves, make the goal look smaller and put off the players.
It was so bad I reckon we would have scored 3 from 5 against him and we can’t even take a good penalty.
