Kaoru Mitoma

I was under the impression he is quite young like 20-21. thought they snatched him as a young one from a Belgium side.

at 26 with 1 year in the PL only hard to see Bloom not asking crazy money. I would imagine Olise-Doku rumours more serious. or maybe the Enciso one albeit he is not so much ahead in development than McAtee-Palmer.

Well; if Cucurella went for 60m, I'd add another 10m. Yes, it's crazy money. But that's the market, unfortunately.

Can't really compare the two. When Cucurella was sold, he was 23, and had two years longer left on his contract. A highly promising Barcelona academy player, that many European clubs kept an eye on, and Brighton spent 18m on. And even with all that, we reportedly would not pay a penny more than 35m for him.

Mitoma cost 2.5m is 26, has 2 years left on his contract, and at best 3 months of performing at the level that would get a look at by top clubs. Bloom may be crazy with his prices, but doesn't really have a leg to stand on with this one. So I dount the club would consider anything over 25m-30m.

The reports I've seen range from 55m to 65m.
Pretty sure it will turn out to be 42m Euro, 35m quid. If he was quite cheap, there's a reason, probably a contractual or negotiating thing. Personally I don't rate him in the 60m bracket but we'll see.

Release clause? If there wasn't one, it's mind bogglingly cheap.
Ther was a release clause thats why the dippers got him for that money. They were talking about it on the Transfer show on Sky sports earlier. They got that Hungarian kid the same way. Now Lavia from Southampton is a different equation for them. They have put 3 bids in for him but the Saints are telling them to fuck off they want £50 million.

There were reports of Brighton turning down bids of £50m. If there was a 35m release clause, they can't have turned anything over that down.

And even the reports that claim £35m say 'rising to £55m' with bonuses.

So it is a £55m fee, as ours get reported all in. Can we now stop wanking over Liverpool's 'coup'.

I hope City really pursue Mitoma.

His contract expires in summer 2025 whereas Caicedo's contract expires summer 2027.

Makes more sense to cash in on Mitoma as he will be worth half in summer 2024 of what they can get for him this summer.

I'd go in with an 80m bid and test the water. Give them Cole Palmer on loan to sweeten the deal and then hopefully they wrap up the Kudus deal so they have everything fully covered.

Mitoma in this side under Pep would be superb. Love watching him play.

I’d go in at 35 with 15 add ons. Then tap him up For free in a few years time if Brighton are not playing game.!

That’s just not right is it
you said its not ganna happen then said you had no inside info so then he said, well theres a chance then if you're not speaking from a place of special knowledge on this particular topic. im just laying out the conversation. i dont care either way.

80m to test the water! I hope you mean Japanese Yen. I like Mitoma as a player more than most, but I think even Bloom would snap our hands off at that price

80m for someone who is 26, who none of us had heard of a year ago and who has had one good season??!!
