Wolves Thread - 2023/24

Weird timing, had all summer and looks like a change of manager just before the 1st game.
Having to sell players so they dont fail FFP also, looks like poor management by the owners re FFP and leaving it this late re the manager
 
Jesus Christ what a shitshow chase a guy for 6 years give him a massive pay deal buy him 6 players and then fire him a couple of months later
Fucking bunch of frauds running our club. Gary o fucking neill give me a break. They’ll be bringing in big Sam before long.
 
Reading a Wolves forum and they seem to sympathise with JL and are going at Shi and Fosun instead. Essentially broken promises and no money has forced him to leave.

Oddly the statement suggests the club and manager knew he’s been going for weeks but have kept him in while they find a successor so the players are well-prepared for the season. Strange move really.

I do think they’ll be fine, though - O’Neill was unfairly sacked at Bournemouth and will have a point to prove as a result. Atmosphere in the stadium could be toxic, though.
 
honestly something very dodgy going around Wolves and the way Mendes bringing players to them. imo they go down

Yeah, I get that. It’s a somewhat lazy opinion, but Wolves fans won’t enjoy O’Neil’s style of football and they don’t seem to be able to buy any better players.

Everton might challenge them for 18th spot, but I reckon Wolves are a good shout, given the turmoil and lack of investment.

Similar situation with nuno. Knew he was going but carried on preparing the team and taking training similar issues too with promises of signings then not delivering.
This is the issue with Chinese owners everything is dictated by the Chinese communist party investment is turned on and off at whim.
JL had been promised investment and strengthening of the team we signed a third choice keeper on a free and brought Doherty back.

How close were you to FFP limits? Obviously a year or so ago, it sounded like you were quite close to the limit and had to sell before buying,

Now Neves, Jiminez, Coady and Traore (and whoever else) have gone, surely there is more room for investment?
