I watched one of those 'every touch' videos against Juventus and to be fair, he looked decent. But ultimately you've got to be judged on your end product, and to be paying that sort of money for a striker with so few goals is insane. I know we took the piss out of Nunez, but at least when the scousers paid a similar amount for him, he was coming off the back of a 34 goal season. Meanwhile we're paying £14m for a striker with a better than one in two record in Argentina for two seasons, and a striker with a goal a game record in Germany and the Champions League.

He's the sort of striker they should be bringing in for a £30m gamble (and even that's generous), not someone they should be paying first team starter money for.

Lukaku looks a much better striker in his stints in Serie A than he does in the PL and he's used to playing in the PL.

Other Ceos of other teams see the rags coming and get the magic beans out for them. You never know a different environment and better players around him this guy could score some goals, on the other hand they’ve been here before trying to buy potential. They got their pants taken down for Martial who they were stupid enough to believe was going to win the ballon d’or, now they can’t get rid of him but he managed to put up better stats than their other two flops in Sancho and Antony last season. They seem to be cursed when it comes to recruiting players.

Well at least we can be assured that he will no longer be selected for England (if we really care)

I wonder what the odds are on him not being selected for the next Euro finals next year.

They're not cursed - they just look for the wrong things in a player. They sign so many absolute bell-ends, and not just saying that because I'm a blue. But Ronaldo (second time), Fernandes, Martial, Antony to name just a few are just not the sort of people you want around your club

Stats like that are totally misleading. 2 is probably the number of times the ball has come directly off him to the goal scorer.

The reality is that he's been caught out loads of times which have led to a goal. And where are the number of losses from those stat's?
