Lucas Paqueta investigated by FA for alleged betting breaches

I'm intrigued to understand how City could value KP so highly. Do we expect every player we buy for millions of pounds to have certain basic skills that can be honed or has the formula for target selection simply misfired?
My honest opinion: Pep has so much admiration for Bielsa, and when Bielsa singled out KP as a special talent, it was enough to get the deal done.

I wonder if he's become unexpectedly available, similar to Dias or Akanji in years past. Seems like a similar "out of nowhere" target where all of a sudden concrete links pop up, I'd guess Pep, Txiki, & co were admirers and caught word he could be had

He’d never registered with me as being more than a midtable Prem player until we played West Ham at home where I thought he looked like their best player by a country mile. His first touch, skill, passing etc. were of a very high standard when I saw him in the flesh.
Lads probably forgotten how to keep it moving playing with Soucek and Zouma

Mad how west ham could get nearly 200 million for rice and paquetta and we cant seem to get 50 for cancelo & laporte
I think its probably due to the players not wanting certain clubs and also teams that can afford their salary, Maguire must be taking a fair old wage cut to go to west ham.

But on the face of it it's crazy how few links to our players are.

I think thats highly likely mate, Tolm did mention we had been offered him so maybe the agent had spoken to us in the past and its an opportunity to get him now? Seems Pep and Txiki really rate him

I think you might be exaggerating his influence. Had Guardiola taken to sitting on a bucket touchline, then perhaps, but I’d like to think that our transfer dealings are a little more collective and sophisticated.

didnt forsee Pep ripping up the plan mid season and buggering off the lone 6 as well.

take all the positional stuff i just told you and forget it, start again lol.

I think he'd be a good signing, but the more I think about it, the less likely it feels. I don't think West Ham sell him for less than £85-90m, and I don't believe we're willing to go that far.

If I had to guess, I'd say this will rumble on for a couple more days before we publically move on.

Still think we sign at least one, if not two more.

Because we’re not a selling club and we also have those reputable players on high wages and bigger contracts in comparison, the only way out from here is downgrading and lowering it, which is hard for Laporte and Cancelo to accept along with the reputation of club who can attract them.
