Eberechi Eze

I like him, matter of time before someone goes in for him. Only player that looked like doing anything for Palace.

It only solves the Rodri issue if Pep thinks Kovacic is capable.
This signing makes sense. His fits the profile clubs signs versatile talent and also works hard defensively. Can play wing, 10 role also wonder if he can play 8 possible take over the Gundo role. Potential, injuries problems but solid signing if it happens. Pep is cooking something and we can’t see it yet. Price is state of window closing wiring week or so.

I dont know about this one. the drop in levels with every new plan is bigger and bigger.
from Bellingham to Rice is already a drop, to Paqueta is another, to Eze now...
next one will be Ward Prowse?

Kimmich, barella, De Jong may be impossible to get, but they would not be much more expensive than the quoted fees for Eze, Paqueta or for what Rice has changed.

Ok thanks. What kind of passing range does he have? I always thought he was a winger for some reason.
His dribbling technique and passing are his standout attributes, playing for Palace he also has the defensive discipline. He’s a creative outlet, who can be moulded into the advanced 8. Like others, my only issue is the price tag, £90m is ridiculous, not my money however, when clubs are spending 120m on pivots, that’s just the state of market.

STOP! The drama over a £90m fee, nobody has stated that’s the fee yet here we are arguing about it. TH said based on current deals being done, that Palace will likely demand £90m or in the region of. That in no way suggest City will pay it, that the player is worth it or indeed that Palace will actually get it. It’s a pie in the sky price they’ll demand knowing they’ll get knocked down. It’ll get done (if it ever does) at around £65-75m I’m sure. Maybe that’s too high, but it’ll not be £90m that’s for sure so stop the flapping.

Who's flapping?

Anything over 50m is utter madness and IF it's 80/90m it's insane, that's Chelsea level madness.

He was originally scouted as an alternative to Doku,so clearly the thinking and landscape has changed if this is still a goer.

Personally,i see a talented player, but not one that elevates us or improves our first 11.With Doku now secured i would much rather see a different type of player arrive, one with more substance and consistency and most importantly capable of playing the Rodri or Kovacic role when necessary.

And while money is not my concern,if we do follow this interest up.....anything above 60m for Eze is utter madness.

There's not one dude in La Liga with a release clause less than that who's a better fit?

Saw him at the back end of last season tearing up (an admittedly shite) leeds, plus switched on last night and saw him bamboozle £105m Rice and caught myself thinking 'I'm surprised no one's come in for him'. Couple of years ago I thought he was destined for Arsenal. Fee is what it is. We all know that Josep turns good players into very good/great players so completely relaxed about this.

If this is a player Pep "loves" then why has it taken us one week until the window slams shut to register an interest. It reeks of panic.

We need to bring in a world class midfielder to supplement the middle and give Rodders respite, not some so-so player with no international cap to his name.
How many cant get it in their thick fukin heads that "simply" popping off to the shops to pick up a world class player to cover someone AINT going to HAPPEN?!

Eze would be a perfect candidate - young, hungry with huge potential to improve an already exceptional talent. Would love this lad to be given his chance under the guidance of the best manager EVER!

If Pep is targeting to get both him and Doku in there's something Pep's planning that he clearly wants quick and tricky players for. He's always a step ahead of the rest of the managers, I look forwards to seeing what he's building

Leeds , the same Leeds at the bottom of the Championship?

He is a very good player, no doubting, but for the fee quoted madness and with Doku on the verge of signing, I don't see this one, very similar.

Doku and a high class CM and we are ready to go title collecting.

He was actually at Arsenal as a youngster, I believe.

Yeah, he's a player I've rated for a while, without having seeing him every week, or particularly thinking of as a potential City player. I randomly watched QPR v West Brom a few years ago and he was by far the best player on the pitch so it was no surprise that a Premier league team snatched him up and he's been a standout performer for Palace for a few seasons and played very well last night.

I'd be happy for us to sign him. Not really bothered about the fee, the market is mental and he won't be a record transfer so that won't play on his mind. I do wonder if we might see Grealish played more centrally and rotated with Foden in there while KDB is out and Eze and Doku the rotated options on the wings. Either way, both new signings bring something slightly different to the squad.
