Fantastic. We've spent less than Bournemouth and Aston Villa and we've managed to bring in one of the best young defenders around, with Kovacic, Doku and Nunes alongside him. We've reduced the average age of our squad massively.

We've signed Bernardo and Lewis up to new deals, kept Walker (new contract impending) and added 2 top quality young footballers to the squad in Oscar Bobb and James McAtee.

The sales have helped get us an insane transfer budget for Kev's future replacement and another Winger/Attacking Midfielder for next season. Next summer will be fun! Can't wait!

An attacking midfielder like Florian Wirtz would be the icing on the cake, but can't really complain with our business. Fantastic. Best run club in the business. What a time to be Alive I say!

Our 2 Croatian internationals have settled in like a glove so that already makes this transfer window a 7/10.

Keeping Silva and Walker makes it an 8/10.

If Doku can add some spark out wide and Nunes can help take some pressure off Rodri by playing in a double pivot with Kova then it will be a 9/10.

I'm also glad we didn't sign someone like Eze this window as I want to see as much of Foden in that attacking role as possible. Hopefully he becomes undroppable.

Okay money in :-
Palmer 45
Mahrez 30
Laporte 25
Trafford 15
Charles 19
Borges 14
Porto 10
Lavia 10

Ttl £168

Out
Gvardiol 77
Kovacic 30
Nunes 47
Doku 55
Ttl
£209

Net spend 41m plus add ons for Trafford/Charles and Borges.
We have added two Croatian worldies plus Nunes who will surprise many people plus a 21yr old exciting Belgian International albeit an unknown quantity.
We have brought the age profile down which was needed without significantly if at all reducing the quality.
If people don't trust the board after winning a treble then they never will.
My comment was sarcasm to the poster who was slagging our transfer window off mate . I actually think we have had a good window .

This is of course based on the current situation we find ourselves in. Granted, things may happen that unfold later in the window which change peoples perspectives.

I think it’s been a mixed window personally. Losing Mahrez, Gundo and Laporte (soon to join Al Nassr) is far from ideal but undoubtedly Kova and Gvardiol are both outstanding pieces of business.

I do however, find it truly staggering that we have failed to land a central midfielder (ideally someone that can play 6/8) that can cover Rodri, given the fact Pep seems to be out right refusing to offer Phillips any sort of game time. It’s been concerning to see several of our top targets fail to materialise (Bellingham, Rice, Pacqueta) for various reasons, some of which I don’t think Txiki is to blame.

Overall, on the basis that there are no further incomings i am pretty underwhelmed by the window. Surely the chance to capitalise on the worlds best players is after a treble and revenue record breaking season but it seems the club have other ideas. For context, I think Txiki is an outstanding sporting director and I wouldn’t swap him for anyone else but that doesn’t mean he or the club are immune from criticism.
Bellingham was persuaded by his dad, a Dipper, not to join City for petty rivalry reasons; he has made a bad move imo, would have done better to learn off Pep and move to Spain later if he so desired. He won’t thank his dad later.
Rice was always bound to stay in London, our enquiry was just a cheeky just in case move.
Pacqueta was lost on non footy grounds. If he clears that up he may join us later.
Disappointing not to get any of them but that’s life.
Against that Gvardiol, Doku, Kova are three excellent signings, four if Nunes goes through.

I must say I was a little worried early in the window, especially when the Gvardiol deal was dragging and was close to collapsing at one point, but Txiki has done an excellent job once again. Txiki and the rest of the backroom staff don't get enough credit for their accomplishments. Pep is a genius, but without the likes of Txiki, we wouldn't be where we are today. Not only have we signed world-class talent, but also we have raised a significant amount of money from the outgoings.

Which teams do you think have had a better window I don’t see one personally happy days CTID
Also the only player I’m disappointed about missing was Bellingham and I think he always had an eye for madrid

Pleased overall, but a little concerned about where the goals are going to come from in midfield. Considering we've lost Mahrez, Gundog plus KDD for half a season.

Gundog and Mahrez have been contributing on average 30 goals a season between them the past three seasons.

That said I have little doubt that Pep wont have a plan and somehow will do his magic.

Think everyone has to remember that last year a certain phil foden couldn’t get in the team for the run in. Everyone is chambering for one more player or someone to give us goals but forgetting that foden could be that guy and we all want to see him play more often!

The goals will be coming from Phil and Alvarez, those 2 combined got more goals than Gundo /Mahrez despite playing less minutes

With more football I'm sure they'll do even better next year

But also feel replacing Gundogan for Kovacic has made us more secure and has given us added control as Kova is slightly better defensively and beating a press if we are under pressure

So expect us to look more solid this year, even if it affects our goals

Also expect Doku to do chip in with a couple

Last season was almost perfection and it’s going to be almost impossible to sustain that.

However, what the club has done this summer has been seriously impressive. We’ve reduced the average age of the squad, for a modest net spend, whilst not really downgrading the quality of the team.

Aside from defence, I don’t think we’ve improved the immediate quality of the team but I suppose we didn’t have to. We’ve put the wheels in motion to sustain the current quality for a longer period.

The only negatives for me is losing Palmer and not adding another creative player. I think we’ve got a lot of dribblers in the side with little end product which might impact us at some point.

With KDB out for a while and not seeing enough of Doku, after Phil our most creative player is Rodri which says a lot really.

Agreed. We will score less and concede less. As long as it gets us 3 points, I care not.

Yes good points on Alvarez and Phil, I agree they will step up and contribute more goals this season. I'm excited at the thought of both of them playing behind Harland.

This is an excellent breakdown of the squad and made me feel a good bit better about the window generally. I’m a little skeptical on Nunes as a signing in particular but overall we’ve done a fair job of shifting the squad’s average age downwards with high ceiling players without spending a ton. A KDB/Bernardo replacement and a winger need to be priorities next summer though.

Rodri will score 10 in the league this season. Already on 2 and will have more licence to go forward with the protection of Kovacic and Nunes in midfield.

Pep will find ways, there's no need for anyone to really worry about whete the goals are coming from.

Missing the obvious mate. Rodri has 2 in 3 games + an assist and will get many more as Kovacic allows him to play in advanced positions more frequently. I think he will post at least 15 this season.
