If it was only one country the EU Commission would have a say, regardless of whether all competitors are based in EU member states. Eg a company based in US are obligated to meet GDPR regs if they want to trade in the EU. La Liga have, or plan to, complained to the EU about PSG using state aid which affects the market This is where the loony Harris has got his story from.

Pretty sure Swiss law incorporates EU law because of their trade and labour agreements, so UEFA as a Swiss organisation also has to comply with EU directives. How many UEFA participants are in the EU has nothing to do with it.

Doesn't matter anyway, La Liga's case against PSG has no chance of success. It's just sabre rattling.

Your first para: one wonders why this is not so. Similarly there should be a rule prohibiting leveraged buy outs. Perhaps the new regulator will have something to say about this.

That's a good point why have the pl allowed a club from the Cayman Islands to play in the English league ?.
Thinking about it, it's wrong to have clubs in the English pl if they are t registered in the uk.

Not sure what the problem is with United's accounts in all honesty. United have a UK limited company like we do. They have holding companies like we do. There's is in the CI, which has some secrecy attached to it. Ours is Newton (formerly ADUG) in the UAE, which isn't particularly transparent either.

Just normal, prudent business if you ask me.

Under pressure from USA, we have been trying to persuade them for yonks. They go Yeah, Yeah, fuck off.
Interference would cause no end of trouble. We even refused, if you remember, to interfere in Montserrat a few years ago when half the island disappeared under a lava flow. Interference costs money!
Maybe we bunged that island a few quid when they complained vociferously, I don’t remember.

Back on topic, it’s getting on for nearly 7 months since these charges were laid out by the Premier League. Surely if the Premier League feel they have a water tight case they should be moving along in a much more timely manner to enforce their own rule book? No independent panel has been appointed yet and we don’t have any date set for any hearings.

"No independent panel has been appointed yet" that we know of, there's been no indication that it will be announced.

Even if it has they'll still be looking for parking spaces ever since City dumped the skips full of rebuttal evidence in their usual spots.

That’s because we’ve mounted all kinds of obstructive legal challenges to the whole process if you believe the usual suspects. Though there’s no actual evidence of this either.
