City Fans Leaving Early/Empty seats

Always atay to the end and applaud the players no matter what the result , and i did it at Maine Rd when we were not very good , something my old man taught me , we never leave early.
But supporters pay their money and take their choice , the problem is we win so many games comfortably the last 15 minutes are like a training session and people have busy lives and its of vital importance to get home 15 minutes earlier , i cannot think why on a lovely summer Saturday afternoon/early evening , but as stated , its their choice.
It isnt a good image looking at thousands of blue empty seats with 10 minutes left and probably this season another 10 minutes of injury time , but it is quite obvious a fair few of our supporters couldnt give a f*ck about our image , its up to them though

We need to get over the tourist criticism
That is the sign of a big club
I’m currently away in Majorca
I went out to watch City approx 5 of us in total
Today I watched Utd the place was jam packed with foreigner’s supporting them (Germans Swiss and Austrians )
That to me shows where the money is generated and reflects how big the club is
For me I have no problem with tourist fans the more the merrier
How do foreign fans generate money for a club, a few extra million on a shirt deal aside?

Sponsors pay extra to be associated with a successful team, but that’s not dependent on some pubs on the Costas being full.

How much do you spend in the club shop ? I’m guessing the same as me next to nothing I’ve seen Asian families spend hundreds/thousands on merch
Plus how often do you go in the executive boxes/tunnel club
Guess what it’s full of tourists paying big money

How much do you think a club gets per sale from the club shop? A tiny amount.

Puma pay £X and take the vast majority of the profit from each sale.

Guess what I’ve been inside the club in a certain area on a match day when the phone rang and they reopened the shop for some tourist fans
So I’m guessing it’s worthwhile

Why did we do a tour of Asia this year and America last
Any idea ?
Guess what to attract tourist fans
The global outreach makes sponsors pay more.

Shirt sale profits are a myth used by the rags in the 90s. Half of their billion fans will have counterfeit shirts too, but their Vietnamese noodle partner has paid them an extra £1m to sponsor them a year.

That’s where the revenue comes from.

So no point going to play abroad on tour then ? or having CFA clubs in the group
We need to get rid of all those ten plus clubs pronto
Ok perfect let the club know and Trevor from Crumpsall will take the seat and but errr a pie if we are lucky

Time to agree to disagree I’m off to bed

I live in the USA and we have the same issues here with people leaving early. I am a cheap ass and if pay for a ticket, I’m staying until the end regardless.

Would you be alright with the Etihad turning into old Trafford or anfield? - where locals and long standing fans are priced out

We need to find the right balance. Yes tourists are welcome, but we shouldn’t neglect our core fan base. The community shield/ Wembley was a good example of that. No singing and lots of fans only their for the experience/ day trip, whilst 90% of season ticket holders didn’t attend

We can chase the money all we want, but shouldn’t lose sight of our fan base.

By the same token arn’t some of our local fanbase abandoning the team on 80 mins missing possibly 20mins of footy while the tourists are staying put to clap the team off. Just saying.

When you've for the city centre on your doorstep and all that it has to offer after the mat h the urge to leave early doors is tempting. Most of the pubs and bars in New Islington, Ancoats and the across the NQ are full of City fans after the match.

Not many people want to be queuing or caught in the rush but you're exchanging slight comfort for the reason you went to the game in the first place which is to watch us play 90 mins of football n you've paid top money to do so.

Games won. At that point they've got what they came for. Now time to beat the crowd. But you shouldn't come for the win then go you should stay because you're a supporter and not just a fan.
Bruce Willis is a ghost! Nice twist, can work the rest out for myself, might as well bugger off home…

This debate has been done to death. People won’t change their viewpoints.

The people that would never leave until the end will never understand why those that do can.

This is the fundamental issue that can never be put to bed and why we have the debate every year.

The one’s that leave early are free to do so, but defend themselves by suggesting they aren’t as big a blue as the ones that do. This the creates a secondary argument, designed to deflect from their choice to leave early.

It’s a deflection to make themselves feel better.

Ultimately it’s a personal choice that nobody can win the perpetual debate on.

Who says? I always leave once the crowd has died down and then leave my seat when the aisles are more of less free. No one has told me I can't and if they did I would point out that it is easier for them as well as me.

And that is both home and away matches.
I doubt you wait 15 minutes. You will find if you tried you would be asked to leave well before then.

Thought sky covered the fans leaving early very well yesterday. OK it wasnt our fans but sky showed the gooners fans leaving early and missing the two goals !.

I do find it bizarre that 1000's pay to watch a game knowing they cant watch the whole match. If I knew I had to miss the last 10 minutes I wouldn't go in the first place and save my 70quid
