Player that everybody loves but you think is overrated

Mason Mount , he plays every game wearing an invisible cloak , he contributes nothing , but weirdly if he was fit he would be in Waistcoats first eleven every time , he is an agents/advertisers dream a pretty boy with a clean cut image but an absolutely useless footballer.
Glad the Rags paid a £60m transfer fee and a contract worth around £70m over five years , they have signed some lemons in their time but Mount is right at the top of the Rags lemon tree

He reminds me of a glorified Jody Morris. I've never seen it at all. I don't think the Chelsea fans miss him all that much either.

Gerrard. Thought he was massively overhyped. A good player, but nothing like what the fuss was made over of him.

Paul Gascoigne remains to this day the best English player I’ve ever seen live. Unbelievable talent ,unfortunately pissed it up the wall. Would have been the best ever in my opinion with proper guidance .
Bobby Robson was about as calm and measured a mentor and manager as he could ever have hoped for. Who could have guided Gascoigne any better ? Two people from the same part of the world, father and son type relationship etc. He also had Terry Venables at Spurs.

Michael Carrick...emperors new clothes imo! Sideways and backwards with short 10 yrd pass radius.
Adored by press and pundits for his ball retention!!!!! WTF!

Not a bad shout, I really liked him as a kid for us at West Ham but never felt he was good enough for a Top 4/6 club or England.

Also , another one I’ll chuck in the ring - Owen Hargreaves.

Eric Cantona. Good by the standards of the cloggers of the time that made up a lot of English football, but there's a reason he only played around 40-odd times for France and the rags actually became far better after he left. Bergkamp was way better, for me.
