Kick off time 20:00 (BST). Live on TNT Sport for those in the UK.

Time to start the defence of our Europeam title.

We've got Forest (H) the Saturday after, so plenty of rest. I think Pep will want to start the group strongly, no complacency or messing about.

No sure on the status of Kovacic, Stones or Grealish.

------------------Ederson
Walker---Akanji---Dias---Ake
--------------------Rodri
---------Nunes---------Foden
Bernardo---Haaland----Doku

I think Alvarez could do with a rest after that game in Bolivia and then the full 90 at West Ham.

Crvena Zvezda just lost 2-1 against Cukaricki. That's their second loss in their previous three games (last season they went unbeaten, with 26 wins and 4 draws, so this is very unusual). They look disjointed and lost.

As I already said in the CL group thread, I think you'll easily beat them anyway, and considering their poor form recently, I'd be surpised with anything other than a convincing City win.

Need a win to start the group and especially at home but could also do with resting a couple of the big hitters?

Ortega
Lewis
Akanji
Gvardiol
Ake
Nunes
Foden
Bernardo Silva
Doku
Alvarez
Haaland

Don´t really care what the line-up will be ,we should beat them anyway at home.Going for 4:0

With the injuries we have and how thin our squad is in general it definitely helps being in such a poor group.

Apart from Leipzig home and away we can probably afford to rest key players in the other four fixtures. Not all at once because mass rotation leads to dysfunctional performances but a couple of players in each game.

The likes of Lewis, Phillips, Gomez and Bobb should all get decent game time across the group stage and who knows, maybe even Rodri will get a rest.

They have a new manager from my country. I rate him but clearly things have started poorly. He brought a new GK from his old club who I think is really poor.

Anyway should obviously be a very easy win

Ederson; Akanji Dias Ake Gvardiol; Rodri Nunes; Foden Alvarez Doku; Haaland
I think Gomez will start on the left wing and alvarez will be rested.

I don’t know what to expect of these, I’ve never heard of any of their players

I think he's a good coach too. The performance against Fiorentina in the pre-season(5-0 win) has been very impressive. For some reason, he started tinkering with the starting lineup way too much and they looked completely lost in previous games. Even if they were firing on all cylinders I'd have expected a comfortable win for City, now I'm just even more sure of it. I'm surprised by your comments about Glazer. I thought he was highly rated in Israel as he is your starting goalkeeper in your NT from what I can gather.

This isn't their strongest team, but I doubt you've heard of many of the players that are missing (in fact you probably haven't heard of any). Once Serbian sports news outlet mozzartsport publishes their predicted lineup(they have very good sources within Crvena Zvezda and are usually spot on), I'll give a short rund-down on all players expected to start or be on the bench.
