Newcastle will go full strength and we will play the reserves and get knocked out.We may have to, although for next week we can still put out a half-decent side using the subs plus two or three regulars. Depends how Newcastle treat the match too, with their new CL commitments.
In truth that's probably the best outcome for us.

Normally I'd agree with you but with the thinness of our squad, the injuries to big players and the amount of games we could potentially play this season, the EFL Cup is one of the only opportunities we'll have to rest players.the league cup breeds success , name me the last time a team has gone out early in the league cup and gone on to have a successful season, we need to go full strength

I seem to remember Liverpool being particularly shite in domestic comps in 19/20 when they won the prem and in 18/19 when they won the Champs. League?
I don't suppose Leicester would have fared that well the season they won the Prem but I'm just guessing.
I'm sure there are others but my knowledge isn't broad enough to know a team that went out early in the LC but then went on to win X.

May as well, sad for the travelling blues but we'll be fucked anyway if we get to the QF's with the World Club thing.Play the kids in the Caraboa. Not a priority.
I always want to win everything but sometimes looking at the longer picture having to play the under 19's later in the comp etc..

Personally I would like to see us field a strong team against Newcastle, I love the competition early trip to Wembley and trophy etc. I would certainly prioritise it over this World Club Championship bollox. I found it laughable that the Dippers were celebrating being "world champions" after they won it!
