Ref Watch City Games - 2023/24

That’s just an excuse to try and get away with taking forever over goal kicks. They were supposedly taking ages over them yesterday after going a goal up.
Conceding a lead in the 98th then the 100th minute. Not hard to work out.

Booking a player for time-wasting is tough; see the problems about Tomiasu getting Havertz’s booking a few games ago. So book the bloke who’s telling them to do it. And if they keep doing it, send him to the dressing room.

Give Pep a month and he'll work a system out that the ref being in the way will be to our advantage.
Football at city is on another level and perhaps we have backroom analysis on the ref's that the player's are instructed on before each game.
No stone left unturned - different levels of preparation these days compared to the past.
Can't see Pep sending them out with "This ref's a ****" without explaining why.
All joking apart, we are now streets ahead of all other teams with the ball, without it and now in transition, with the new signings all carrying the ball so well. The writings on the wall for the rest imo!! And im a cynical old (ish) blue ;)

What a time for us, drink it in!!

Couldn’t see a thread for ref watch non-City games. I think Hooper (reffing the Everton arsenal game) is the best of a very bad bunch

West Ham 7 fouls City 10, the ref adjudged Rodri fouled 3 times because he was bigger and the player bounced off him., the third time Rodri was booked, the ref waved play on 4 times from West Ham fouls, all of them mandatory yellow cards, he did eventually book 1 for the foul on Akanji , but only because VAR told him to.

Updated bb4tm scores.

Probably his best performance doing one of our games, just really his time management and getting in the fucking way were his faults.

I find it disconcerting that even though we're 5 games in we've not had what we'd call a proper shocker of a performance yet, suppose they'll start in earnest if/once we have daylight at the top of the table.

Jones 1 game 3 out of 5
Pawson 1 game 5 out of 5
Gillett 1 game 3.5 out of 5
Oliver 1 game 4 out of 5
A Maddley 1 game 4 out of 5

As bad as football officials are they have nothing on Major League umps when it comes to being bent. They constantly fuck over certain teams and have absolute power to eject anybody and everybody who calls them out on it. On top of that they have a union that means they can never lose their jobs, it's the biggest joke in sports imo.

Fkin rounders

I’m confused, are you saying the ref should ignore the rules because it’s City?!
No, we are talking about his overall officiating of the game, which has been very poor and very Forest-biased, which partially led to the Rodri incident (very much intentional).

What Rodri did was stupid full stop.

But trying to act like Taylor had not been trying to keep Forest in the match and couldn’t pull out the red fast enough is being delusional.

Why wouldn’t Taylor whip the red card out quickly? It was the most obvious and straightforward reds of his career…

Even if he’d done what people seem to want and ignored the rules - something the same posters insist is done for Utd and Liverpool, but it’s only wrong when done for them - the var would’ve told him to change to red anyway…

Blaming Taylor for Rodri losing all professionalism and causing unnecessary exertion from the rest of the team today is just silly. Rodri should be ‘donating’ £500k in fines to charity for his stupidity.

Who is doing this?

You are arguing against a strawman.

And if you think Taylor has officiated the match fairly throughout (ignoring the red card), I have a bridge in Brooklyn I would like to show you.

You’ve literally posted above that Rodri disgracing himself was ‘partly caused by Taylor’s reffing’…..

As for this game, Taylor has reffed it how he refs every game - haphazardly and inconsistently, because he’s not a very good ref and that he is rated amongst the UK’s best merely highlights how desperately low the standard is.

The idea that he is bent though is just sad. He’s not bent, he’s just shit.

But I—nor anyone else—have blamed Taylor entirely for Rodri’s stupid decision. Quite literally shown in all of my posts.

You have built a strawman to argue against, as you often do from my experience.

I am struggling to remember when you haven’t posted something about any topic that isn’t a borderline wind up or contrarian position, actually.

Quite the short tenure on the forum.

Forest with their "be overly physical "hard-men" when not in possession of the ball/fall over like pussies when in possession" act has been aided and abetted by ATIAC today. Fucking annoying match.
