What the fuck are you talking about? So far for us he's shown an incredibly high passing, shooting and ball retention ability. As high as literally every other player in this team. I would suggest those are his best assets so far. This is an incredibly bizarre thing to suggest following his first month in the team. In what match did he show himself to be bad at passing/shooting?!

Not gonna lie, the comparison to benjamin mendy borders on racist for me. What on earth do they have in common other than skin colour? They don't even play in the same position.

In fact i am baffled by the past 2 pages where people are really scrapping the bottom of the barrel for criticism here

I am truly shocked at the "he's poor technically" criticism. What???? he's clearly one of the best players in the team technically. What fucking player in our team gets us that west ham goal?
I love watching Doku. He's gonna get a lot of goals for us hopefully, sometimes we need that direct approach.

I’m convinced 50% of posters on here are Ai bots created by rival fans Just to talk absolute shite

Football is about opinions however I disagree. Sane technical ability for a speedy winger is world class, how he strikes the ball is something unfortunately Doku will never be able to achieve.
When it comes to shooting or passing, Doku is not in the same area code. Sane's technique is impeccable.

Sane does have some ball control quirks that look really bad when they occur. I think that's what the prior poster was referencing.

Can we at least give him the full year under Pep to make any comparisons?

What does the amount of time u der Pep have to do with technique?

If I say his ball control is not as good as Mahrez's, so I have to wait for him to play 5 years under Pep too?

Doku's shooting technique is top class. What he lacks is power in his shot, but in terms of placement technique there is ample evidence for his quality. Against Red Star there was a moment where his curler got blocked by an opposing player, but you could see how cleanly he strikes it. It would have been a wondergoal if the defender didn't block it. And it happens regularly with both feet. Technical shooters actually can be distinguished by the fact that they most often choose placement over power and thats what Doku does.

In terms of passing, of course hes no Guti. His through balls most of the time don't have the perfect weight, but that can be improved with experience. What doesn't improve with time is the sheer ability to see the pitch and movement of players, and pick out passes. And he has this, his vision is fantastic imo. What needs to be considered is that hes not the Ozil/Bernardo Silva type of wing playmaker, a #10 who plays on the wing. He is a pure winger, and among pure wingers he is elite with his passing ability. His passing is going to be like Hazard's, and its already very close to it. You cant be great at literally everything. In terms of passing, its his decision making thats impressive, he knows when to play the simple pass, when to make a small progressive pass, when to cross etc.

I honestly don't see what the fuss is all about this "technique problem". You don't play as a forward for City if your technique is poor. Hell you don't play forward in general if your technique is poor, his career would have been a lot different if he had poor technique, he probably would have been a fullback. But hes not. You don't get to have such close control when running with the ball if you don't have technique. Doku is basically a street footballer, thats how hes been raised. He is all about skill.

Had literally no impact on the game at all when he came on, but we didn't do enough to try and get him 1 v 1 with White.

He really does need to learn quickly that there's a time and place to try and beat his man, and it's not just outside our 18 yard box.

He was afforded just 3 opportunities to do anything. First time he got tackled, 2nd time he beat his man and was one of the few times we almost created something and third time he won a corner. He was one of the bright sparks in a dull room.
