I’m pretty sure the club couldn’t give a fuck about the red shirts, or being accepted by them.

At the end of the day they have had to be seen to do something about this. Comparing it to other chants is simply not going to work.

These idiots have live streamed or uploaded themselves singing about the death of Charlton the very afternoon it happened. That’s why the club have got heavy-handed with it. They’ve had to, and who forced their hand? The 3 children in question. There is no point blaming the club for its response.

Minors don't "tarnish" an image.
They're kids and their actions should be ignored as such. Not blown out of all proportion in the current rush/need to be perfectly magnanimous and perfectly viewed.

They had a lot of choices. One of which was not making a huge, over the top announcement to the press hours after it happened.
All 3 lads are too young to vote, fight in wars or drink in pubs and yet now one will have a criminal record that may effect his future career.
How many adult Blues attacking the lads on here have typed Jelly and ice cream ' ? Posting on here is less obvious than tiktok but surely it's just as offensive. The club seem so desperate to be accepted by the history boys that they will do anything to appease them.

Citu need to tread very carefully with us fans. Its seems odd to me how two knobheads in the concourse can be identified by City, yet City cant identify some throw stuff from a seat. The seat will be numbered, the row number etc but to keep the dippers happy we allow the wanker that scared our young fan for life to get away with it.

I am 100% for any City knobheads to be punished BUT City must also punish away fan exactly the same. Other wise City are just carrying a witchhunt against its fans to please other clubs.

Othe clubs that wanted us thrown out of the CL, the PL. City sent a fucking joint letter with the dippers, it's the fucking dippers that misbehave yet our club put us in the same bracket as the dippers. City also put a fucking letter signed by the Glazer's on our website.

We need our younger fans to replace us FOC who are finding getting to match tough going nowadays as our bodies give up !.

Perhaps City now feel they dont need us working class fans anymore.

I would hazard a guess that if this was weeks after Charlton’s death, the slap on the wrist is what would have been dished out. It wasn’t though, and whether right or wrong, the club has had to act to create a deterrent.

Someone earlier blamed social media. Social media only exists by and for those who use it. Use it in this way and this is the outcome, again rightly or wrongly.

Football and the world in general has gone fucking mad. Traditionally football spectating was a way of the working classes letting off steam at the weekend, and whilst what these 2 lads did was daft and disrespectful it was after all just partying about, at the football, probably after a drink or two. For the media and the club to pursue these 2 CHILDREN so vigorously is losing sight of the fact that kids do daft things, they need guidance on how to behave better, not annihilating in the press and the full force of the law. Most of us have done daft things at that age - I’ve sung Munich songs as a kid, I’ve heard whole pubs singing them in a Friday night when I was a kid, it wasn’t right but it’s part of growing up. The boy who has been charged is being punished way beyond his “crime” (inverted commas as if that’s a crime we all need locking up). The issue here is (a) 2 silly BOYS; (b) the fact that everything gets filmed and put on YouTube these days. How is what these boys did any worse than Manning, Boyle, Chubby Brown etc?

Perspective has been completely lost here. The police and cps surely have more important matters to deal? Like physical violence maybe?

I've not read the entire thread but weren't they identified because they posted it on social media? The club can't ignore that if someone tells them. You can't honestly believe that the club deliberately didn't attempt to identify the scum who threw the pot of coins?
