PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

That seems a relatively low salary given the importance of the role in a multi-billion pound industry. Doesn't inspire confidence that they're going all out to get the best person for the job.

It’s a government job though, the whole point is to not have anything to do with the premier league and all its wealth.

It’s more than an MP and a bit less than a judge or the prime minister, That’s the context.

Fair point, although @projectriver said on Twitter that the CEO of Ofcom, for instance, earns around five times that amount.

In addition to the relatively low salary they want someone in post by January (big ask for anyone any good) and it is initially for only 12 months with the possibility it might be extended to 18 months.

No-one who is up to the job would be the slightest bit interested so it will be some generic middle manager type.

Post Codes were configured by Royal Mail to assist in sorting mail to the correct location and not in relation to administrative borders, city and county. RM based it on their major sorting offices which were often based close to major train stations to suite the mail trains. Every item with an M postcode would be sorted to the M bags and dropped to the Manchester Piccadilly stop, from where the numbers eg M34 would be sent to the office that dealt with the M34 codes and so on Trafford's closest station is Manchester This is why there are various anomalies when postcode and administrative district are compared
They are outside the City of Manchester boundary located in the Borough of Trafford their business rates will be paid to Trafford their event / stadium license is issued by B of Trafford. Postcode is irrelevant as is Greater Manchester They are in Trafford and if they win any trophies in the future and are granted a civic reception it will be at Trafford Town Hall
And they pay their Council Tax to Trafford Borough Council and not one penny to Manchester.

And United(especially under the Glazers' tenure) has invested virtually nothing in the city of Manchester. It does a bare minimum in the local community but spends a lot on PR claiming exaggerating how much they do locally. City have always done more than them for local communities...even when we were struggling in the third tier.

Dan Carter. Evertonian outrage at the way Everton are being treated compared to City. ( no mention of the Joleaon Lescott transfer fallout)

It does seem slightly unfair that Dyche’s side could face a punishment in the coming weeks and months when City could remain unpunished for years, despite allegedly breaking the rules more than 100 times more often than the Toffees, but football has never been known for its lack of hypocrisy.

At least Everton should be able to continue to focus on the pitch when their case is eventually concluded and won’t have the potential punishment of a large points deduction hanging over their head for the next few years, as is the case of Man City.

It also seems a suspiciously time limited executive search, our "charges" were announced almost a year ago supposedly in a hurry to get them brought before the creation of a commission. Now on 2 November a civil service posting, with a limited job life is posted to be filled by the New Year. Seems a bit odd to this yank. Admittedly I don't have a clue how your civil service is administered, but it all smells a bit fishy to me.

The post in question is for a position as an interim COO at the independent regulator being set up by the government. The job is to start the set up of the independent regulator which will regulate football including the PL and the EFL. The more senior positions will be filled later. The point of the article is that if the government is advertising the role, there must be announcement pretty soon about the establishment of the IR itself.

It's nothing to do with the "independent" panel being set up by the PL to review City's case.

Edit: Amended to put the word "independent" in "independent panel" in quotation marks. I am slipping ....

Most people would have a months notice if not at least 3 months the higher up you go
