As well as Foden is playing, I’d be interested to see Doku up against Cucurella for 10–15 minutes. He’s on a yellow and Doku is a bag of tricks.
Cucurella is all arms, every challenge is a push.
He’ll get away with it whether it’s against Foden or Doku.

The Akanji goal was a great example of why short corner routines are a thing. Initially, every aerial threat is being man-handled/blocked, then when the ball gets played short all the Chelsea blockers stop blocking and step up, leaving Akanji free. It’s so simple but it really does show why just whipping the ball into the mixer is not always the best decision. Teams are far more prepared for a standard whipped in corner than they are for a short one, as there’s more variety with what you can do with them.
Read some analysis of corners somewhere on the Internet that said regular corners in the EPL convert at a 3.5% rate, whereas the short corners are roughly double that. Either way, have to take a lot of corners to get a goal.

Walker needs to work on his positioning. He is frequently the wrong side of an attacker in our box.
I think that's more down to the fact that we look short of bodies at the back, Our midfield is getting exposed and nobody else but Rodri dropping back in to give a dig out.

The absence of Stones is incredibly noticeable.

From what I’ve seen of him so far he doesn’t look s effective playing on the right, although it would be fun to see him turning Cucarella into a jibbering wreck.

Not even rinsed, just a massive fuck up. The attacker didn't have to do much to get past him.

The ball from Cole Palmer was perfection... fired straight at Gvardiol's heels. Gvardiol didn't know whether to shit or shower, giving the Chelsea player an easy opportunity to cross. Brilliant by Cole in my opinion.

Dias - no more cross field passes.

Gvardiol - Cut out the errors

Alvarez - Join the game

Doku - pick and choose your battles. Diversify your game.

Kyle - Quicker play.

If I was to make a sub right now, Id go Grealish for Alvarez and play Grealish behind Erling
