Well for me, it’s Jack or Rodri before Walker for a start. I would have put my last pound on the ball going over the bar.
So you were happy with him taking it?Haaland and Phil are left footed so unlikely to take one from the left side.
Anyway those mentioned players plus the above 2 have never scored a freekick between them. So what's he pulling rank above?
So you were happy with him taking it?
And youre talking like a left footer has never scored from that side. Give your head a shake.
Walker would literally be my last option to take a goal scoring chance free kick
All season. I can think of numerous goals off the top of my head that are almost solely down to him losing focus. He gives us nothing from an attacking POV to justify him being a nailed-on starter.Piss poor today……
ThisIn what world does he think he should take a free kick.
He is the designated free kick taker now , took one in the last game as wellThis
We’ve got betterHe is the designated free kick taker now , took one in the last game as well
Not sure why you think walker had more chance of scoring than a few other players?Well yeah they can but neither Phil or Erling have the technique of striking like a Yaya, Kev or Elano.
I don't overly care that he took it as he hasn't pulled rank on an actual freekick taker.
Pep should be bollocking him as he is doing this too often .Walker is believing his own headlines , pundits piling on the praise is having a negative effect , he needs to get back to basics and stop trying to be Billy Big Bollocks taking free kicks and trying to be to clever when defending .He's a very capable defensive full back , but his forward contribution is average in the modern game, he has been brilliant for us but we need the solid , dependable no nonsense Walker ,not the player who thinks he is Yaya re-invented from free kicks.
I think losing Gundogan when the club had probably convinced themselves he was going to stay may have played a big part in us offering Walker that deal. All season. I can think of numerous goals off the top of my head that are almost solely down to him losing focus. He gives us nothing from an attacking POV to justify him being a nailed-on starter.
Pep knew what he was doing when he dropped him for the CL final. If he weren't English and so popular within the dressing room(I'm not discounting the importance of that), I'm almost certain he wouldn't have gotten a deal. Let alone until he's 37.
Tbh atm he shouldn’t be even in the first 11 as he is nowhere good enough this season .As others have said, he should be nowhere near free kicks, and as a captain he should recognise that.
