VAR audio released of Anthony Gordon's goal v Arsenal

Can't complain with any of that can you, pretty much perfect from VAR.

Makes Arteta's crying look ridiculous.

Yup, agreed. Arteta can feel aggrieved that 2 or 3 close calls didn’t go their way in the same incident, but VAR did nothing wrong. It was thorough with the technology it had to work with.

The Assistant referee must eat his carrots though to be sure the ball was still in 70 yards away from him. “still in…!”

You recon the PiGMOL would have released the audio if it'd been anything other than exculpatory of VAR?

Not a fucking chance.

That's why we'll never hear the audio of that offside goal at the swamp.

Sky Sports still banging the "controversial" drum on this decision.

VAR lines drawn from an invisible ball/pass is acceptable for Liverpool.

Superbly done from the officials and ref, they were very tight and tough marginal decisions to get right in the heat of the moment.

It's a foul by Joelinton. We've had 2 penalties for less recently.

That’s my only issue with it really. The angles used when discussing the foul were all kind of far away, the angle they used for discussing the handball was the best angle to see the foul but they were only looking for the handball then. I totally get the rest of the decisions.

So, the ref was right in the first place? Just like they normally are /were 99% of the time.
But we need VAR to confirm what we already know? And simultaneously suck the joy out of the game. Terrific

...well not unless City decide to release it!

Complete sham that audio was never released. Clearly it contained something dodgy or it would have been played when discussed with Webb on Sky.

I personally like these VAR mic'd up things they release. It shows they (IMO) get the right decisions and how they come to making them.

The Spurs Romero red card one is interesting too. Oliver (the ref) asks for it at full speed rather than looking at a frame of the point of contact which is refreshing.

The annoying thing is, though, that they ultimately release audio of correct decisions. What about the two-footed tackle from Udogie on Sterling which should’ve been a red in the same game? Or Romero’s kick out which could’ve been red? It’s give and take, they need to put themselves down rather than big themselves up constantly or it’ll all become a bit too propagandary.
