Middle East Conflict | Netanyahu orders strikes on Gaza (p1161)

Genocide is a word with quite shocking connotations, I don’t believe this is what the IDF is doing, but I do believe that there has been vengeance and collective punishment going on against innocent civilians, I believe that these maybe constitute war crimes

Although Israel left Gaza some years ago, it was treated like an open prison, Israel controlled many of the vital services going in, and what went in and what went out, eventually that the place exploded in an orgy of violence should not surprise anyone, of course Hamas are guilty of murder and atrocities and should be bought to book, but just as equally the Israeli government have as well especially on the West Bank as we speak, is anyone going to bring them to book for it?

The blame for this is two uncompromising ideologies that fail to see that this cycle of violence will go and on, until a settlement is reached, neither is Israel going to disappear or the Palestinians be shifted out, nor can Israel keep expanding the settlements and hemming in the Palestinians into small cantons, what’s Israel going to do when the Palestinian population is equal or greater to the Israeli population? Which will happen if the Palestinian birth rates continue as they are it’s a completely untenable situation

I can agree with this. I’m not going to get bogged down with posters debating semantics. I’ll happily withdraw whatever word that offends every person on here if it stopped people being murdered. Sorry to everyone on both sides.

Sadly it won’t and the continual and cyclical debate about syntax will continue to be more important than any form of ceasefire.

With that, I’m disappearing from the thread to allow others to debate the same things endlessly.

This "war" didn't start on October 7th. Hamas and Netanyahu's IDF indiscriminately kill people, but the actual war has been going on for decades. The only solution is a political one where two states, Israel and Palestine co-exist, with a fair allocation of land and both recognising the others right to exist. That seems a long way away now with bloodthirsty Netanyahu and Hamas holding sway - neither are interested in peace.

No I haven’t -cos the likes of the BBC produce utter bollocks from their Bods safely ensconced in Southern Israel or their Hamas embedded mouthpieces -who would no doubt be killed if they told a truth which didn’t fit the Hamas line (which the BBC broadcasts as truth)

We are not going to get the reality until this is over-fact.

But the IDF did not set out on this to kill Civilians -unlike Hamas who did and do plan to go on Murdering Jews (not Israelis).

There is no justification for 11,000 civilians being murdered including 4500 plus children - some of whom were babies in hospital. Those are undeniably war crimes just like what Hamas committed except on a larger scale.

So, you think it's acceptable to target a hospital with civilians (with various states of health) including babies and children and medical staff in it because you think there may be being used for a military purpose. What a strange set of values you have, to put it mildly.

So far it looks like they're saying one bad guy might have been hiding there, at some time.

Perhaps the most cynical thing was the PR photo of all the boxes with newly printed labels saying "medical supplies" in English.
